Clanfield Hants. PO80XL address. (assumed). I visited parents this (Wednesday 7th) evening to retune their HUMAX PVR . They reported loss of BBC2 during the day but apparently all other were ok. Performed retune and box found 63 channels, including BBC 1 & 2 CBBC etc., but no ITV, Ch4, Ch5, ITV2 (complete mux channel ?). Undertook full reset and auto tune several times but no change.
If the Humax received ITV on Freeview ok before I rescanned why won't it find it again ? Has something changed that I need to cater for post retune ? ie. aeriel change ?

SO224HH. I have a HUMAX box and in the . I have retuned several times today but always get BBC1 to 4 on 800, 801, 802, 803. Is there anything I can do to correct this?

I went to Portsmouth (PO2 0QD) this morning to re-tune an elderly relatives Sony TV(old ). Its performance since it was bought a few years ago has been absolutely solid. On re-tuning it has lost BBC1&2 and this evening can receive BBC4 but not BBC3. Initially I used auto re-tune and then just re-tuned the digital - no change.

Before I drive to Portsmouth again do you think your reset procedure will? I understand its logic but had not heard of this problem before.

All our 3 TVs re-tuned this morning without a problem and we live in what has been a difficult area for . (PO2 0QD)

I did the retune this morning at 9 and all went well. I returned home this evening and everything was sitll OK. However, I watched CH80 (BBC News) at 10 then turned over to CH1 at 1030 and all went blank. Then all that would show was the . I tried a retune and was left with absolutely nothing other than analogue. This is totally unacceptable!!!!!!

Jeff White: There is a great possibility that the being received on the now high powered BBC mux is excessively strong whereby is blocking its , with this type of problem showing up much more on some tuners more than others.

Another side effect of this problem is that it can slightly desensitise the tuner whereby its difficult to receive lower powered muxes such as presently exist until changeover is complete on April 18th.

As they only cost a few pounds (approx £4.00) I would be inclined to purchase an attenuator of about 10 db or so before paying the area another visit, with the attenuator being placed in line with the TV's socket.

If though you see a variable type with a range of 0-20db these are even better, as they can be finely tuned to obtain the desired results.

There is always an element of hit and miss involved with these things, but that's the procedure I would use as what you have mentioned suggests the problem is one of an over powerful signal.

Performed retune yesterday and have no BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC News or 301. This is on both of my receivers. The chap on BBC local radio who lives 5 minutes down the road said on air he had the same thing but I haven't heard any solution. I rescanned again this morning and the same channels are still missing.

Stephen: As nothing is seen mentioned as yet about any fault being in existence on Rowridges BBC mux you should consider the possibility of the you receive being excessively powerful thereby blocking your tuner on that , as its presently only the BBC mux that's operating on 200Kw, ITV still only being on 20Kw until March 21st, needless to say that if you use an temporarily try by passing it.

Should you not use an aerial amplifier then if you have access to a set top aerial give your TV or whatever a re-tune (essential) with that plugged in, as it doesn't matter if any received is iffy as its really more the case of if you get it at all. Should a set top aerial not be available then just use a small length (about 600mm or so) of wire pushed into the middle part of the TV's aerial socket and carry out a re-tune, as if your problem is being caused by a high level of signal this will prove it one way or the other.

Interesting issue with my ondigital tv.. can pick up all but the new (moved) BBC mux, which has moved to an 8k ...
I have the Philips 32dw9625 which on this site says does not support 8k, but the spec says it supports DVB COFDM 2k/8k ..?
Are all the muxes moving to 8k? I had read that some TVs cannot support both 'at the same time'...
Any ideas? I know I can easily get a box and plug that in, just interested from a tech perspective why it's not working.

Have had problems receiving MUX2 (ITV1, CH4, CH5, ITV2 etc) even before yesterdays , but now I have retuned (3 or 4 times) MUX2 does not even register on my TV. How come every other MUX ecept the BBC one is on low , is that why I'm not receiving these ? (I'm at Alum Chine, BH4 8HZ)

Please post a question, answer or commentIf you have Freeview reception problems before posting a question your must first do this Freeview reset procedure then see: Freeview reception has changed, Single frequency interference, and Freeview intermittent interference.

If you have no satellite signal, see Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fault'

If you have other problems, please provide a full (not partial) postcode (or preferably enter it in box at the top right) and indicate where if aerial is on the roof, in the loft or elsewhere.
