John Owen: That sounds like your TV is retuning automatically and picking up a Welsh transmitter first (or with a stronger signal). Have a look in the menu and see if there is an option to disable automatic retunes. Also, posting your phone number on a public forum is never a good idea.

James Toyne: No closure date has been announced, however the multiplex licence expires in the summer of 2022.

Peter Simpson: There are only a handful of ITV HD regions on Freeview, due to the huge cost of the additional coding and multiplexing equipment which would be required in order to make each region available in HD. There has been no timescale announced for when any additional BBC or ITV regions will be made available in HD on Freeview. On satellite and cable, where less equipment is required therefore resulting in lower costs, ITV have now made every region in England, Wales and Northern Ireland available in HD, where they have now been able to close some SD regions therefore reducing the overall satellite capacity required and bringing the total cost down enough that ITV have decided it is worthwhile making every region available in HD.

John Lingley: Pick was previously on Freeview LCN 11 and can now be found on LCN 35 (it was on 34 prior to channel number changes which took place last week).

JOHN GALLAGHER: Nobody chooses which channels you get. The PSB channels (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5) are broadcast from over 1,100 transmitters (along with some of their offshoot channels) reaching 98.5% of UK households. The commercial broadcasters are not prepared to pay for that level of coverage, however they can choose to pay for space one one of 3 commercial multiplexes which broadcast from around 90 transmitters which cover around 90% of UK households. There is also another national commercial multiplex (COM7) which covers around 70% of households (broadcasting from only 25 transmitters) which costs less for channels to be carried on and is where where Freesports can be found.

Ken Marchant: Sony Christmas Movies is carried on the local TV multiplex, which is mostly directed towards Birmingham and the surrounding areas. 6% is a very low signal level (matching the prediction of the Freeview detailed coverage checker) and as you already have 100% strength on the main multiplexes, any attempt to boost the signal is likely to result in the signal lever becoming too high for the main multiplexes which could result in the loss of other channels.

Mr peachey: Some broadcasters still appear to be showing the retune message, perhaps on the basis that not all viewers will have retuned yet. You can simply ignore the message if you have already retuned.

Wolfler wolf fire: It is effectively just a placeholder channel which only exists on Freeview in order to reserve it's channel number for TCC's owners to use if they wish to launch another channel in future.

G jones: Sony Movies Action is not broadcast from transmitters in Wales, due to the need for S4C to be broadcast from every Welsh transmitter, which takes capacity on the PSB2 multiplex used to broadcast E4 in England/Scotland/Northern Ireland, which in turn causes E4 to take space on SDN.COM4 which is used to broadcast Sony Movies Action elsewhere (presumably Sony get a discount for taking a slot with less coverage).

PREETI7@GMAIL.COM : I'm not quite sure what your question is, but firstly this isn't the broadcaster's website and nobody here has anything to do with any decisions regarding which channel any programme is shown on, or what time. Also, you've posted your e-mail address on a public forum, which is never recommended as is likely to result in you receiving more spam or other unwanted messages.
