Chris.SE: I'm at my parents house for Christmas and they have seen pixellation on all channels over the last week and a half, I've witnessed it to since arriving on Boxing Day. BBC channels can be stable sometimes but all ITV channels are very bad and the signal strength goes from 0 to 60+, plus the other channels can fluctuate in strength.
An aerial man came out about 6 weeks ago to check all the wiring and areal on the roof and all seemed good then.
Just for info they are based in Trowbridge.

I have had pixilation also the last week or more, i am Trowbridge also, been having it for months now on and off, tried all suggestions, new aerial cable etc, strange as sometimes it works, but not worked properly for a week or so, 0 to 55 signal strength.

Are you sure it was a 700MHz filter that you had from Restore TV? Your postcode gave a Yes on the check and even if it's a 700MHz filter in the amp/splitter, if the mobile mast signal is strong enough it can still give a problem especially with a wideband aerial. If it was the 800MHZ LTE filter, you do need the 700MHZ one.

Did the "aerial man" have a spectrum analyser and check for interference?

If it says yes, they need to get in touch with Restore TV for a Free Filter, call 0808-1313-800
IF they have a masthead amp outside on the pole, then tell Restore TV because they will need to send an engineer Free of Charge to fit a external Waterproof filter.
All filters need to be fitted before any amp.

By means of a recap - North East Bristol - I have a loft mounted aerial tuned to Mendip which has been received reception fine without any issues until Nov 23 when we sporadically started to loose various "non BBC" channels.
Periodically we would loose various channels throughout the Freeview range for anywhere between 12 and 24 hours for them to return. This has continued for a number of months only for just at the point of calling an aerial tech to come back and look only for the channels to return and work again.
Over xmas much like the previous posters, we lost a lot of the non BBC channels over the Xmas period often for days on end and this continued until the new year when all channels returned fine for about a week.
As of Sunday I now have ALL channels but absolutely nothing on PSB2 not so much as a signal just "Service Unavailable" (before there was a high power but low quality signal blocky image and sound).
I'm totally bemused by this as all the other channels operate as expected, and I'm also confused by the sporadic nature of the signal coming and going.
I have contacted Restore TV who have said that a phone mast was upgraded nearby six years ago but nothing else since...
Am I dealing with an interference issue or should I just rip out the aerial and downlinks and start again?! (not expecting anyone to know the answer but to share your thoughts!)

Restore TV have given you a load of nonsense. There is NO WAY the mast (whichever one they were talking about) was upgraded for 700 MHZ mobile usage 6 years ago because the frequencies were still in use for TV and they hadn't been auctioned either.
As you haven't given a full postcode I can't check how many masts may be near you, it may not be the absolute nearest mast giving you a problem - IF you still have problems!
No, you shouldn't rip out the aerial etc and start again!!
Do you have an amp/splitter feeding more than one TV?
Try manually retuning PSB2 again UHF C34. Check in your LCN 800s to see if the TV channels got put up there for some reason.
Mendip has been on Planned Engineering on and off for many weeks and was still listed recently (I could have sworn it was on the list yesterday but isn't today!!). However, since before Christmas, it seems several multiplexes were not operating on either full power or were on the Reserve Antenna (PSB2 was not one of them). That all changed yesterday.
All the multiplexes appear to be back to normal.
If you are still having problems, check in your TV Tuning section for the Signal Strength % and Quality figures for each multiplex's UHF channel and post them, along with a full postcode (or put that in the Settings box - top RHS of the page).

Chris.SE: Bristol_Rich did not say that Restore TV told him something in the 700MHz range was added six years ago. Based on what he says, it sounds like Restore TV has access to records of changes made to masts, and that the last change at this one was six years ago, meaning that it hasn't been changed recently and can be ruled out as a potential cause.
