Mark Hemington: If you split the cable, the Magic Eye box will not work.

You should be putting the rooftop aerial into the RF input of the Sky+ box.

Conor Mc Dermott: I'm only actually speculating that there will be UTV+1... this might be a dead slot.

Pete: If you only want to watch, you don't need a card to use a Sky+ box for the free-to-air channels.

However, if you want to play/record/pause with it, you need both a card and a subscription.

If you want free channels AND play/record/pause, you will need to buy a Freesat+ or Freesat+HD box.

Terry r: A loft aerial is unlikely to provide a reliable Freeview service, especially at your location until later in 2012.

I would suggest you get a rooftop aerial. You shouldn't need anything exceptional if the aerial is mounted outside.

Rob M: Remember that the commercial multiplexes are still running in their pre-switchover configurations and are at about one tenth of the power for 12 to 18 months.

John: This has been the configuration on the transmitter since 2003. If you are having problems with C31, see Single frequency interference | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

Rich Martindale: A masthead amplifier is fine, don't worry about that.

The Sky Sports channels are on ArqA, which is on C56 at switchover.

It is quite possible your problems are due to weather-related damage to your external aerial.
