You can get the following Freeview channels on with an ex-contract digital satellite receiver (once it is connected). Items marked with a star require either a Freesat from Sky (fSfS) card, or a expired Sky subscription card to view.

M: Sky+ does not require connection to a terrestrial analogue to work. It gets all it needs from the two links to the satellite dish.

Bloke.
Yes.
You can also view all the other BBC regions.
To view other ITV1 regions you need to scan for the different channels manually.
ITV1+1 only has some regions, so your local news on ITV1+1 may be different from ITV1.

My friend lives in a flat with a sat "port" next to his normal tv areal, I have a standard sky box which i no longer use, also with my old viewing card. Can he use my old skybox/viewing card to get freesat?

Thanks

I have a Sony Bravia TV with built in freeview viewing TV through a rooftop aerial I also have a Bush freesat HD box which needs a sat dish fitting to make it work. After having fitted and connected my HD box will I be able to use the freeview and freesat independently of each other or will everything come through my sat dish.

K I Moore: Freeview uses an aerial, Freesat uses the dish.
