It does open up jobs for us to do as I feel a lot of people who distribute sky are going to get these boxes as replacements and the sky engineer is just going to say --' that AINT my job
So taken rf modulater out and fitted wifi
End of an era - Virgin boxes are the same with no rf distribution
Will force people to get another 1
2 or
3 more sky multi room boxes

No ive not tried one yet
the none recording HD box has the same IO port
Id be interested to see how the channel is allocated - is it on the gadget as an RF modulaer is or is it still on the installers menu
Mazbar for what they cost having one on your van is prudent its not going to be an every day occurrence - butt then again I suppose its like having a RF modulator on the van or Diplexers -- cant remember last diplexer I installed

As jb said if no one eles is experiencing the problem then its likely to be your equipment at fault
Can you test your sky box on a friends dish to eliminate one or the other
If the problem presents its self at thr second dish then its your receiver or the cables leading back to the outlet plate
Or - and its unlikely the outlet plate is faulty
It could be yhe piwer supply within yhe sky box over heating
Try cooling the box if you have a desk fan try poinying it at the back of the sky box and see if the issue calms down

The cable isnt going under a carpet by any chance
A pin from a carpet gripper going through one of tge cables will short ut out
Not uncommon to find this

If you had a sky plus box the older white one when you switched it on it sent a signal through the scart lead to switch the tv to thebcorrect av channel
The sky hd boxes dont seem to do this and with your tv saying no video it sounds to me like you need to select the hdmi input on your tv

Was havibg a look at one of these earlier today
No aerial in
No loopthrough
No rf out
There is an I/o port like on the none recording hd boxes - theres a gadget thats availablE seen them in grax that creates an rf2 from the I/o port
No rf loop through so would have to use a combiner to add in for aerial distribution I guess
