Has anybody else found that Mux B Channel 66 from Tacolneston to be terribly weak. I have tried adjusting my aerial but just cannot appear to get a stable signal. Everything else appears OK.

Let us hope that when this great switchover comes in November all muxes will be transmitted on the same power with the same directional characteristics.

Even in analogue days when I got a decent BBC2 picture and a bad channel 4 and when I got channel 4 a decent picture I got a worse picture on ITV and BBC2. Don't even mention analogue C5. I am just 10 miles from the transmitter.

I for one will be glad to see the underpowered old mast demolished it was never high enough and never powerful enough, and has never has provided a decent signal as many people on the north-west Norfolk coast can verify.

Thanks for the reply Briantist I have not changed anything but Ch66 now appears to have much more stability. This morning I now have a signal quality of 9 to 10 mostly 10, rather than than 3 to 4. All other channels are fine with a stable reception.

David Faulkner I believe the post you made about the Taccy mast is incorrect. The old mast is 541ft (165 meters)and the new one is 676ft {206.1 metres high. I saw the the new mast and it was already higher than the old one even before the aerial array was mounted on the top.

I believe that when the new muxA on Channel 55 is switched on on Nov 9th it will be on its full power level. Those who pick up from Tacolneston who are used to the low power signal levels at present and consequent larger aerial systems may find that the new Mux A signals are too strong but reducing their aerials effectiveness to cater for this power level until the others catch up on Nov 23 could result in them losing the other low power muxes. That said, it is good news, at least, that the underpowered present transmitter will be outputting all muxes on full power from Nov 23rd.

Yes, sorry, I am getting my Muxes mixed up I should have said BBC A mux and not mux A that is launching on full power on Ch 55 on Nov 9th.

I do find all these new Mux names confusing surely Mux 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or Mux A, B, C, D, E, F would have been much easier but perhaps I look at things far too logically and methodically.

I believe that the best thing is to wait until Nov 23 and a full retune when Tacolneston will be on full power on all muxes. The muxes on chs 66 and 68 are dire at the moment. If you can get a good reception on Ch 55 now receiving the remainder of the muxes on Nov 23rd should not be a problem.

Jacqueline someone might be able to help you if you let us know you post code so we can see what transmitter you receive from and then we can go from there. Just the post code will suffice not the full address. In the meantime have you gone into the menu set-up and tried a first install type rescan of channels. also roughly how old is the TV and perhaps the model number will help too it should be on the back of the set somewhere because the TV it may not be compatable.

Have you also got the month wrong, did you mean 9th Nov because as far as I can see there were no changes to transmitters in this area done on the 9th Sept. but was on 9th of Nov.
