I had the same problem ....
Swapped boxes and the old Sky box still showed no signal.
I played with it for ages, sat on the signal strength screen for ages.......
Used to have HD multi room with 2 feeds, whilst swapping feeds it suddenly came up with almost full strength and I was only holding the lead to the box. Bent the middle wire of the feeding co ax and shoved it back in..... BINGO!!!
No explanation for this as the box had not moved and is now on a different feed???
