I have a TV combi DVD/VCR and sky. But unlike the previous answer my sky only has 1 scart lead. I really dont understand, having been trying for weeks, I am a widow in my sixties so not to up on all the jargon but I try. I have set it up but when I just put a DVD in it made a terrible noise, I have been looking for a diagram.

Dont know if I am replying to this correctly. I have checked the box it says Sky + HD, checked the back and it definately only has one scart, I am just not sure what should be put in what, the tely and the dvd/vcr both have 2 scarts each. The sky is not old had it about a year. Many thanks

Well from what I can see my DVD/VCR is a samsung 330 my tv is sony model KDL-32L 4000, as I said both the telly and the combi have 2 scarts. I have never really been able to use the combi bit to technical for me, but my husband died in march and I wanted to put the videos of him on disc and then edit on the computer, but it just wont work, all I can think is it is not wired properley, the telly is working fine. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Well not had a lot of luck, still cant get the DVD to work, everything else is fine. I cant even get it to play a dvd, have taken the wires of everything and taken it out of the units, have all the stuff on the floor much easier to do like that, but I'm tired now so going to bed, it's all ready for me to try from scratch again tommoz, I feel like throwing it out of the window.

Yes the video has played tapes with no problems, it has always been the DVD that is not working, I need to find out if it's my fault or if the actual dvd player is at fault. I've spent hours on this thing. driving me nuts, will be easier now cos out of the unit so I can try things without too much hassle.
Many thanks

Am gutted think the DVD is faulty, wont let you play, it loads but thats about it, wont go any further, I will keep trying. I dont soppose you could recommend a CHEAP simple machine that will transfer video to disc.
Many thanks for your help
