I receive my signal from Beacon Hill here in TQ3 1QG. Prior to the changeover I noticed a notable improvement in signal strength and I can receive all Freeview channels at maximum strength

Quite true Brian. Before the changeover, all channels except the BBC ones were liable to break up or pixillate and freeze but, as changeover day approached, the faults began to disappear and my TV showed that the signal strength had improved and was strength 10 by the day itself on all channels, some of which had been only 4 or 5 so a faultless changeover was achieved in my case.

Beacon Hill (Torbay, England) Full Freeview transmitter

I live in TQ3 1QG, receive my signal from Beacon Hill and have five TV sets in the house. Two of these receive a 'split' signal with a slightly lower signal strength (9 instead of 10).Recently I am finding that my BBC Freeview channels sometimes become pixillated or disappear altogether. While this is happening, all other channels can still be received perfectly. Does anyone else have a similar problem, or is it caused by an intermittent fluctuation in the strength of the signal from this transmitter?

John Farmer, I've had this problem with my oldest T.V. The missing channels are now 101/102 and Channel 3 sometimes vanishes when I retune. The only answer appears to be perseverence and several retunes!

Phil White, I had the same problem as you on and off for a couple of years. It was driving me mad as it only seemed to affect the BBC channels and was intermittent. Finally, last year the cure happened! A building project was taking place down on the main road, involving a large crane. After the crane finally came down, the interference ceased. I can only assume that the signal was reflected back from the crane when it was in certain positions and confusing the original signal. Do you have anything similar going on in your area?
