Thanks Briantist, I thought That might be It. Do you happen to know how big the attenuator needs to be? I hav'nt got any at the moment and Maplins is the only place still open if they have any, and they are 10 miles away. Can I put a resister in the signal wire only. If so what value do you surgest 1k, 10k,or is it experimaent time? I was An Arial rigger 20 years ago so I do Have some experience, and in electronics, but as you know things move on. kind regards Phill

Hi Briantist and all, I have attenuated my incomming signal and rescanned and I get less channels not more. So I think I either have to have the aerial swung or get a amp. But I thought this switchover was surposed to increase transmitter power not decrease it, but that appears to be whats happened in my case. I had all the bbc's on my freeview box yesterday but not today. I still DO have terestial bbc1 for now but not bbc2.regard to all Phill

Hi All, I Now Know How To Solve My Problem. It Is to Buy A New On Digital Box that can handle 8k. But I Love my old box And I Don't See Why I Should Change It, Just to get the extra BBC channels which I pay a licence fee to receive. I Don't under stand why they need 8k. Is it because of HD which I don't need or want at the moment? Did Briantist say that this (Glitch) would be solved at a later date? If So I'll wait to buy a new box or tv? initial problem - Waltham on digital no BBC 1 ,2 ,news ,red button 301 etc. I borrowed a box with 8k caperbility to test if the aerial needed moving it didn't. thanks Phill
