Dave: thanks a lot for the info I will certainly do as you suggest, if it is pontop pike like you suspect then do you happen to know if they will continue to broadcast hd till the full switchover? Also (sorry to be a pain) but can you explain why I am picking up a signal from another area when I should be getting the bilsdale transmission.....is it just a case of my aerial pointing in a different direction? Am I likely to eventually end up with an inferior signal because of it? Sorry if these are dumb questions and I fully understand if you don't bother to reply.....much appreciated if you do though.

Hi, I have just purchased a new Panasonic plasma tv which has freeview hd built in, when I set it up a couple of weeks ago I was very surprised to find that it picked up (and still does) the freeview hd channels. I'm not complaining as it's a great picture but I am wondering how this is possible when I live in Teesside TS19....especially as my friend who lives just over half a mile away cannot receive it. I am wondering if it is some kind of test transmission that is likely to go off soon?
