Why do I get a perfect picture on BBCA, but a lousy picture on D3+4? I have nothing clever in my antenna system, no tuned amplifiers, no very high gain narrow bandwith aerials. The signal strength on D3+4 is OK, generally SNR 27.7, but there are loads of uncorrectable errors.

Thanks for the response. I've changed to a lower gain antenna and the problem is fixed. Perhaps interference from another relay station in a side lobe?

Quick note... you give pre switchover power as 2W (-23db on 400W), BBC give it as 2kW; which I find more credible. Probably a useless bit of trivia, but here is legacy website to back up my claim... http://www.bbc.co.uk/reception/transmitters/tv/tv_pontop.shtml.

Hence
I think it should be 2kW. (400W -6.9dB on 2kW). (NE499DQ)
