Our tv is saying the same thing, we're on waltham transmiter in derbyshire. I can only assume its because of new muxes, its a bit of a pain lately as all the channel name changes we've had have meant a retune. Mind you, if its getting better then I dont mind, if its more selling channels, adult channels or 'bingo tv' then its going to be annoying indeed.

Paul, anywhere about 45db should be fine for digital tv reception. It might be worth checking what the analogue signal is coming in at, if its above 80db then it could be interfering with the digital signals - so even though the strength is fine the quality of the signal maybe very poor.
I use a signal booster but have it set just above minimum. It only gives a slight improvement in signal strength but anything more wipes it out. I also use attenuating splitters to distribute the aerial output which helps filter some of the 'noise' generated by nearby traffic, microwaves or even light switches.
The 6pm+ time is quite well known for signal breakup, usually caused by the 'inversion effect'. In short the atmosphere behaves like a mirror causing interference from distant/neighboring transmitters, it should improve when all the analogue stations shut down and channel frequencies rejigged. For now we just have to live with it.

Hmm. Just had a pop up message come on my tv about a retune on bbc news channel scheduled for today otherwise I will loose some of my services. This ones new to me.

Another pop up today on bbc mux. It says i'll have to retune on 13th due to technical changes. I understand changes to notts transmiter but i'm on waltham (live in derbyshire for one thing). Out of interest what technical changes are taking place?

Yep, ITV and C4 still off here. Did a re tune earlier and all was good on C31 (apart from a low signal strength) but now there is nothing on C31. Will check again tomorrow.

hmmm. Still cant get mux 2 on C31. When I run the tv tuner on the pc it states a good signal strength, 100% quality and that it has 'locked' onto C31 but there are no program IDs or transport streams, all the others working as normal.
Have they done anything weird or wonderful on mux 2 since the move to C31? (Changed the modulation?) Its completely flummoxed me.

There must be something up. Surely we're not all suffering from the same single frequency interference. I already use an attenuator and all other signals are fine, just c31 is a problem, even though it gives 'good' signal strength and 100% quality (on that channel) as well as locks onto it on a scan it reports no programme ID's or transport streams.

Ok.. this C31 issue is just stupid. I've tried everything, disconnecting other equipment, changing cables and attenuators... Still nothing on C31. If something is causing interference then its not coming from this house and the neighbours are out so there must be a wood pigeon with a cell phone on the chimney. I suppose this means no ITV, C4 or C5 until August.

We're suffering some issues here too. Most of freeview has gone giving a 'zero' signal strength, can only pick up Mux 1 (100% signal and 80% quality) or Mux C intermittently (60% signal strength only 15% quality).
Oddly I'm picking up Mux D on channel 41 instead of 42, but it contains no data. Both my PC and freeview box report it as being channel 41(+1) whatever that means!?
Maybe there's another atmospheric inversion affect causing interference.
