I am having the same problem with my Panasonic recorder since the engineering works on 19th July 2018. Timer recordings have consistently failed and I am unable to pause/rewind live TV for all channels being broadcast on C45 (666.0MHz). This includes BBC1 HD, BBC2 HD, ITV HD, CH4 HD, CH5 HD, CBBC HD & Film 4+1 SD.

When I try to pause live TV I am getting a message 'No signal for operation' which suggests to me that there is some kind of embedded code or information that is missing/changed from the broadcast of these channels since being moved on Thursday. The recordings worked fine before these changes.

I live within a mile of the Bluebell Hill transmitter and have signal strength & quality of 10. I can watch the above channels without problem, I just cannot record them. I have tried everything including retuning, unplugging the box, factory reset & updating firmware to latest revision. The problem still exists and I believe it is Freeview that should be sorting the problem and not passing the buck.

Looking at AV Forums, this problem has occured after other transmitters have been "upgraded". In particular, Midhurst had same problems back in March (search "digitalspy cannot record hd"). The problem was eventually fixed there, so if Freeview can manage to communicate with each other then surely the same fix can be applied to Bluebell Hill.

My Panasonic DMR-HWT130 is now working correctly. The HD timer recordings have been successful since Thursday evening. Well done everyone for reporting the problem and well done Freeview for a quick resolution.

I recently had the Panasonic failed recordings problem and thankfully freeview managed to sort the issue within a week. However, I am now still having problems with the HD channel signals dropping out and displaying "no signal" message for a second or two quite frequently. I thought it might be 4G interference so I installed a filter sent from at800. This has not solved the problem. Has anyone else experienced the same issue?

Mike

My postcode is ME5 8UN. I am within 2km of the transmitter. My signal quality and strength are at 9 or 10, but I keep getting this dropping out of the channels and slight blocking of the picture. It happens every few minutes with a no signal message flashing up, then the picture restores itself back up to full signal. It doesn't make the programme unwatchable but it is very annoying, missing a split second of dialogue here and there. The problem started a few weeks ago. Sometimes it's worse than other times.

Chris.SE & MikeP:

Why does my signal drop out when vehicles pass by my house? I live on a busy road and it is worse at rush hour or when a bus goes by. I live within 2km of the transmitter and my signal strength is 70 to 90%. Signal quality 90 to 100% but drops off when traffic passes. Often goes black and displays "No Signal" message. Didn't happen before changes on 19th July 2018. What has changed to cause this? Thanks

CH55 & CH56 (Com78 National) currently off air.

I have messed around with attenuators, cables, connections, retunes, reboots, updates, etc, etc, etc, for the last few months and now getting sick of Freeview unreliability. I really respect everything that the regular forum contributors such as MikeP and Chris.SE say, but the fact is that before 19th July 2018, I never had any problems with the service that I received, but since then it has been completely hit & miss. Who is responsible for recent changes, why so many transmitter engineering downtimes and why can't they just get it right?

Currently have "no signal" on HD ch. 45, 55 and 56. Signal strength good but signal quality zero. Is anyone else having issues? I have had problems with the picture dropping out regularly on CH45 since last July and now need to get this sorted as it's driving me nuts. Is it my system or is it a transmission problem? Other people have reported similar problems on this forum previously. Postcode ME5 8UN. Any advice welcome and will respond asap. Thanks

MikeP:

Full postcode ME5 8UN.

The channels must have came back on early afternoon (successful recording at 2pm). I have been out all afternoon until 8pm and the picture was fine then. However, as I am writing this at 9.30pm the channels are coming and going. Signal strength 70-90% Signal quality 0-10% on CH45, 46, 55 & 56 multiplexes. There is no problem with the strength which is stable, but the quality is fluctuating resulting in pixelation and "no signal" messages. Had enough of it now but will check again in the morning.

Thanks
