Since the transmitter changes a vouple of weeks ago I've not been able to get ITV2+1 or film 4. I've retuned and ITV2+1 reappeared but a really week signal and then a week later it had just disappeared agai. And there's no sign of film 4. I deleted the existing list using the method of unplugging the aerial and tuning and then retuning with the aerial in again. ITV2+1 reappeared but very low (28%) and totally unwatchable. I've treid manual tuning but it then loseal tune channel 15 (it's just not an ioption ual tune channel 15 (it's just not an option for that channel num ber). My postcode is BS6 5TJ and I live in a ground floor flat so it's a shared aerial on the roof with 9 other flats. They're not having the same troublwithouover, but got them restored by retuning. The management company say the aeriel is fine otherwise I wouldnt be able to get other chanels and as other flats don't have a probem. Please help! Thank you

Hi JB38

Thanks for your reply. I don't know if they've got a problem with the same channel number, only that most of them lost the bbc channels. I will try to find out. My TV doesn't give the option to reset or do a first time installation, only auto or manual retune. But I did wipe all the channels by retuning with the aerial out and then again tuning with it in.

And to KMJ, thanks for the comments, I'm not quite sure how to do a manual tune for ITV2+1 other than going to channel 27. and with film 4 it wouldn't let me choose channel 16 (the lowest channel available in the manual tune was about 20). Thanks again.

Hi JB

Thanks so much for your explanation. I manually tuned on channel 48 and my signal for ITV2 has gone up for 30% to 55% so it's now watchable most of the time. It didn't work with Film 4 though.

There are 8 other neighbours who share this aeriel. I know two at least use Virgin for their tv but checked with one who just has freeview (ahd is also on the ground floor) and they have a perfect signal/recepetion for both ITV2 and Film 4.

Hi jb38

Re your comments last week, yes I did mean ITV2+1. I have checked my aerial connectors while watching ITV2+1 and as checked the the wall socket was pushed in properly the signal got worse. It got better after a few seconds of leaving it alone though. However, prior to this my signal has been much worse again for about a week, down to the 30s again, rather than 50%. When I twiddled the aeriel it went down to 24%, but within less than a minute went but to 30s. But still unwatchable.

fOR Film4, I also checked the signal on mux Ch52, without scanning as you suggested, and the signal and quality were both 0%. My neighbours signal was strong on both channels

I have also noticed that both E4+1 and sky news (I watch on EPG channel 82) have both lost their signal strength and are unwatchable, so overall it's getting worse.

Thanks again for the help.

Hi jb38

The aeriel is horizontal and the TV is a Matsui M26DIGB19 (26" HD READY DIGITAL LCD TV) and yes I have the instrction manual.

I don't know how to do a signal check to note the mux number. When on ITV2+1 I press display on the remote and it comes up with the EPG channel number (ie 27), the signal strength and the title of the programme, but doesn't say the mxu channel.

Thanks again,
catherine

Hi JB38

You gave me some help a few weeks ago and asked me about whether my aerial was horizontal and about a signal check. I posted the details below, I wondered if you were able to offer any more help?

Thanks again,
Catherine

Hi JB38

Thanks for the advice. I followed your suggestions:

Using a different cable gave no signal at-all.

So I then removed the stored channels by retuning with the cable out, and then did the manual tune on 48. I got 37 channels, but the first on the list was 5* (with signal of 18%), itv3 was on channel 9 (with signal of 29%). all the bbc channels were gone and the ones I did have were unwatchable as the signal was so low.

So I did an auto retune and got back most of the channels but still with the same issues as before and have lostmore channels, so no sign of itv2+1 at all. It is now worse.

Thanks in advance for your advice,
Catherine
