If you lose reception, before you ring Sky, look at the back of your Sky box. Input 1 and input 2, swap them over, first putting the box on standby and unplugging it.
This is the first they ask you to do if there isn't a recorded issue at their base.

Apparently it happens after a lot of bad weather.
