Ihave just reurned from changing over my mum in laws tv for her ,she comes in the suton coldfeild area . The next stage, is the 21 september , does the change over have to be done on that day or can I wait untill I go back up there at the w/end.25 september

Ryan: You're about equidistant from and . Before , these transmitters used each other's analogue for digital, so you were stuck with from either.

When switchover completes tomorrow morning, the problem goes away as each adopts its former analogue channels for digital . strength is expected to be very good. If you've been using a , remove it. See Freeview signals: too much of a good thing is bad for you | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

Your box might have decided to tune in the as this is on lower frequencies than Sutton Coldfield. Check whether there is a more reliable version of BBC One elsewhere in the , usually around 800. If so, see .

Ambergate would provide East Midlands news, but it uses vertical polarization, is low , and power is aimed more to the south-east of the transmitter than the north-east, though the restriction in your direction isn't that large. Digital UK's predictor gives a better chance of reliable from Sutton Coldfield, even with the right pointing the right way.

Just a quickie, I have a Sony bravia with built in , pointing at from le93an. On my epg, the HD are there, but , I sometimes get a 1-2 second burst of . As I understand, the HD is currently broadcast from , which is being closed on 21st, does it then go onto Sutton and I'll get full glorious HD?
