andre: Many people are in the same position as you. The long-awaited power increase of the Commercial channels from Sudbury happens on 27th June when a retune will be necessary.

The best thing is probably to sit it out, knowing that it should be OK come the 27th.

Don't beleive this site when it says there is no technical fault the last three channels are only transmitting at about 1% to 10 % we should only have to wait until 27th of june for full power.

I have recently found that my channel 63 (810 Mhz) reception has virtually disappeared. I live in north Chelmsford and my post code is CM1 7HW.
Is there a transmission problem as I have not had a problem since switchover?

A D Woods: This one and the other Commercial multiplexes are on low power until 27th of this month when a retune will be required.

I live in Braintree, Essex, postcode CM7 5QY.

My household lost ITV4 (and others on the same multiplex) on the last retune and I sincerely hope that on June 27th that ITV4 is restored to my service by a simple retune as I am getting fed up with watching the British Touring Car Championship on ITV4 via the ITV website - it's a poor quality stream at best.

What I don't understand is that others up the road can receive ITV4 and my household can receive the channels on COM5 and A which are also at low power.

This leads me to believe my household will never get ITV4 (and the other channels on that multiplex) back without spending money on a new aerial or other expensive equipment - something which shouldn't be necessary considering this switchover has been forced upon us.

An Irate Freeview viewer: See the report above from A D Woods citing the same problem over the last day or so.

Whilst there is never a guarantee, you will be expected to get these channels back once the power goes up on 27th.

Dave Lindsay: Thank you. Unlike A D Wood I've experienced this since the last retune was required some 7 months ago, not the last day or so.

Shame I can't get a partial refund on my TV tax for loss of service or some other financial recompense if I do end up having to buy further expensive equipment/services like Sky, simply to receive a handful of channels I was in receipt of prior to the last required retune and prior to the switchover.

The situation is a shambles, and that's being polite about it.

An Irate Freeview viewer: I presume that you do realise that you are not officially predicted as being able to receive these two channels? namely Ch54 & Ch63, and although you might well have managed to receive them before it should however be appreciated that this was only really through good luck and not through entitlement, but unfortunately this good luck having been spoiled because of the massive differential in power between the main muxes and the two commercials, as the main muxes will most likely be desensitizing your tuner thereby making it difficult for it to pick up the very much weaker signals being received from these two commercials, something thats affected quite a number of viewers in the Sudbury coverage area, even a number who unlike yourself, are actually predicted to receive it.

By the way, the three commercial channels of SDN / ArqA / ArqB are not connected in any way whatsoever with the TV licence, it only being linked with the PSB muxes, these three commercials being purely for profit purposes and likewise not being required in the legal sense to ensure they can be received by any licence holder.
