Thanks for the suggestion - the Sony TV still says no service for the BBC programmes so we've put the Toshiba back and it's working fine now - think we'll take the Sony back to the shop!

Brian, thanks for your replies, I thought I would tell you the latest, I had a trusted local aerial company come out today (quite windy) and check my system, the only signals were on MUXB and no faults were found.
A second aerial was rigged but this suffered the same signal loss, it would appear that some fast growing conifers planted on common land behind our propery have become a barrier to all the lower frequency transmissions as the signal was fluctuating constantly in line with the trees blowing in the wind.
The aerial is already on a sixteen foot mast and cannot be moved into a position with a clear view whilst in the boundary of our property.
£60 worse off and no signal, perhaps the money would have been better spent hiring a chainsaw!
I can only hope the changes in March help, or if that fails have another go in 2012 when I can try the London signal.

Peter: The stronger signals will probably be effected by the trees.

It's a shame, £60 would have gone a long way to getting a dish put up for Freesat.

Thanks Brian, that may be the next step, we already have a Sky+ service but I may need to upgrade to a 60cm dish as the signal is not always the greatest, I need to run two more cables from the LNB to the study and the bedroom.

As they say, easy come, easy go!

Peter: A 60cm dish is the right size for your location. £60 would have got you two more cables installed.

Spalding

Steve in Spalding, at last another person here who gets signals from Sandy Heath.
I have always used Sandy Heath in Spalding and get excellent reception on all 6 multiplexes with just a little time taken getting the alignment correct, so as to reject the Waltham multiplexes which share the same frequency,Ch 42 and 45.
I have been told that reception here is not possible because of the hills!!!!!!!!!,the transmitter is out of sight and I must be mistaken as to which services I receive.
No mistake,I am in the Anglia ITV and BBC East region.
