John T. Lewis: Your losing a mux, so its worth checking the other muxes - are they on low power?

If they are, then its likely you have a problem with your aerial system. Work back from the TV, checking for lose connections, etc. Also check the booster - if its power supply is beginning to fail, then that can cause problems.

If needed, you might need to call out a pro, but at least do all the checks first, and it might be worth thinking whether you need a booster at all - a lot were put in when the digital signal was very low. If its acting up, you might get someone to just take it out.

The TV mast at Redruth is giving off a low pitch beeping sound which had been happening for weeks now. It's beginning to annoy several people now. It is all the time and at night . There must be a problem somewhere on it.

No BBC1, BBC2 or BBC4 - no signal or signal strength. We can get BBC1HD and BBC2HD though. Anyone else in the TR20 or TR18 areas having this problem, especially around Newlyn?

Derek Thompson:

No one else has reported this so it is unlikely to be a transmitter fault. So please check all your aerial connections by unplugging all plugs from their sockets and refitting to clear any corrosion/oxidation from the contacts. Then put you post code into the Digital UK Coverage Checker at Digital UK - Coverage checker and manually tune to the channels given for the Redruth transmitter.

I wondered if the Redruth transmitter will be providing Freeview Channel 114 (Quest HD) - COM8?

Terry Reed: The Redruth transmitter does not carry the COM8 multiplex and it most likely never will. COM7 & COM8 are temporary services available from 30 main transmitters covering around 70% of UK households and are expected to close by 2022.
