The problem with unpowered splitters is that they seriously reduce the strength, to about 1/3rd for each of the two TV sets and assuming they are both plugged in. (1/3rd for each TV tuner and the other 1/3rd lost in the splitter.) If one TV is unplugged the results can be catastrophic as the 75 Ohm matching no longer occurs.
I would advise using a low powered splitter designed for 75 Ohm UHF TV use and good cables with well fitted plugs. These splitters generally 'isolate' the outputs from each other and there is no significant loss of signal strength, there may even be some gain so be careful not to have too much gain/signal strength. However, cheap splitters can create conditions for and/or poor signal quality on some of the signals but others may be unaffected.

Craig: An 18 element group A yagi would probably deliver a stronger and with a lower wind loading! Slight repositioning of the might improve of ie raising or lowering, or mounting a few inches to either side of the present location.

Lindsay Thank you for your advice . It could be the which is only four miles away . I didn't use this transmitter because it is unmanned and has been unreliable in the past . I will check the ITV HD setting .

Thanks for your advice, we've tried a bit of repositioning but it didn't give us any better and we're already using foil shielded .

I'll explore having a look a new or powered splitter. Would a do the job (Product: procception proMHD12M - 10dB) with a mains amp within the flat?

I am still managing with my old (band A?) pointing at , the recommended for my location (Knebworth), and get a good for the main but don't always get , , stuff. Recently I have discovered I am recieving stations (eg Movie Mix) (variable strength). Is this from (???!!!) I wonder ? In which case it would surely indicate that my best bet is simply to turn my aerial around to point at Crystal Palace. Any thoughts ?

John V Osborne: If you aren't bothered about which regional programming you get then go with the tranmsitter that gives you the best .

You may get improved reception from with an that is more sensitive on 48, 51 and 52 - this being a or even probably a Group K.

ATV`s Choice Of Aerials for digital TV

With your current aerial being a Group A one, then it is probably only suitable for receiving all from , and as such rotating it might be your best bet.

Thank you. I have just tried manually tuning my set to although a weak it has found all stations !!! Must be despite being on the edge of their transmission range and my pointing in the opposite direction ! Hate to think what will happen if I now do auto tuning ???
