Briantist,
I noticed the Bolehill transmiter work has been delayed until August and will only receive a limited number of available channels.
Therefore,
Since the Sutton Coldfield transmitter has been boosted I have tried to receive it's signal with the aid of the information on these sites.
Using the postcode DE44BA the advice given is positive and suggests I should get a signal.
However, despite using a booster I have struggled to receive anything.
I have had free sat in a previous property however, am fed up of going through 900+ channel list to find the 35, or so, English free to air channels available.
I wondered if you could advise me of an averagely priced arial for this use please?
(I just would like to watch the F1 on BBCHD this season without paying for the sky service and installation)
Many thanks.

Liam: Sutton Coldfield has not been "boosted". It is at the pre-switchover power levels until Wednesday 21st September 2011, with the commercial multiplexes at lower power levels for some extra months.

Why not get a BRANDED Freesat HD box? You are using a generic one.

Our post code is DE4 5GU, Wheatcroft, near Matlock. We are high up with clear views from North east to the south from the house. We wish to receive HD programmes. We are currently getting good signal strength from Belmont (due east of us) but no HD channels. When can we expect to receive them or should we alter our aerial position to Nottingham instead?

I've retuned HD Freeview tuner last week, but no change in available channels. Digital Aerial is on chimney facing due east.
I have since learnt that most transmitters serving North Derbyshire/Peak District won't be transmitting HD channels till 31st August!
This is after the World Cup! This applies to 50% of the UK! This,in my opinion, is not good service to loyal TV licence payers.

Phil Tromans: Belmont will carry Freeview HD from 17th August 2011. The Nottingham/Kimberley transmitter at 131 degrees is currently in service and has HD on C21+. Aerials need to be set for vertical polarisation for this transmitter.

I have done a manual as well as an automatic retuning on two televisions today after hearing that the Stage 2 switchover had been completed before this afternoon's deadline but can still only receive signals on BBC related channels. I did the page 284 checks on all channels which were satisfactory. Is there an acknowledged problem, please?

Alan Bunting:

Everything is now OK; looks as if the DigitalUK website must have jumped the gun. All channels are now installing correctly.
