The symbol shows the location of the Bilsdale (North Yorkshire, England) transmitter which serves 570,000 homes. The bright green areas shown where the signal from this transmitter is strong, dark green areas are poorer signals. Those parts shown in yellow may have interference on the same frequency from other masts.

Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Bilsdale (North Yorkshire, England) mast?

Update! Following my bringing this to the attention of ITV (as their signal's affected) they are now looking into it. Mux 2 and D are well under par to the southwest, but the other muxes are fine.

Help !-Cannot get any signal on Mux"D" Ch 42.
Signal OK on all other > Mux 1-2-A-B-C.
The "Search" frequency on TV Auto-Tune goes up to 642.0 MHZ but the signal strength is "0".
I cleared out (did a non ariel scan)the old tuned channels first !
Just the TV channels included in Ch 42 are missing - i.e. 12,15,18,21,24,85,89.
Ariel on Chimmny stack just same as neighbours, ranging on Bilsdale, and all other channels come in with no breaking picture.
When I do a manual tune on (Mux) Ch 42 there is "0" signal strength.
All this just to get TV ch 10 (ITV4 SPORT)?

John Clarke.York,YO61 1DP.
Did you previously receive the MuxD multiplex before,or have you never received this multiplex as such.
If you have never received MuxD before (currently on fr 42 as you indicated) then is your roof aerial a group A red tipped one,if so then that could answer why you have no MuxD as group A aerials are optimised for the lower frequencies between 21-37 although good quality Yagi 18As and more so X-Beam XB16As can just stretch to frequency 41 but 42 is just out of reach.
If you did receive MuxD prior to losing it just recently have you checked with your neighbours (if you get on with them) who also receive Bilsdale like yourself whether they too have lost MuxD at the same time as you have. Also check your aerial plug (and aerial socket too) for any signs of water ingression and for rust as a possible cause, the higher frequencies are more prone to loss of signal than the lower frequencies amd in the case of Bilsdale until Wednesday 26 September 2012 DSO2 the highest frequency in use is MuxD on 42 itself.Post DSO2 ArqA mux which goes on frequency 46 will then be the highest frequency in use at Bilsdale.
Finally if your aerial is a group A red tipped type, then it needs either replacing with a grey tipped group K semi-wideband aerial,or diplexed (at frequency 38) with a group B yellow tipped aerial for the SDN,ArqA and ArqB COM multiplexes more so at DSO time.

John Clark: According to Digital UK and Ofcom, C42 is on the lowest power of the digital channels from Bilsdale at 1.6kW. All the rest are 6kW except for C34 which is at 4.8kW.

As Mark says, C42 is the only out of group one at present, if you are using a Group A aerial.
