to Steve P the HD channels on Freesat are BBC1 and BBC2 and ITV, Channel 4 in HD but other HD channels you have to subscribe to sky.

It sounds to me that BBC is not spending their money wisely at all... Sky got decent shows I rather wait till it comes on channel 5 or 4 watch it free... I cannot believe that BBC really spend more on programmes as far too much repeats on BBC2 and BBC3 and BBC4 I heard a rumour bbc is having BBC1+1 and BBC2+1. I feel its time to scrap tv licence

I have come to conclusion. When i did have sky i found there was alot of programmes and movies being repeated to the death. and this is why i got rid of sky now am happy viewer with freesat... just a shame not all channels on there dont carry subtitles. but we can't have it all i suppose.

Brian M. Leahy: Join the club Brian I am deaf since birth. most channels don't have to carry subtitles unless they are public service IE BBC and ITV. I do find the quality of the "live" subtitles are really awful have to auto correct the words myself. I think of com is looking in to this.... so i believe.

i think its time BBC went independent like itv... the reason i say this is... bbc sell programmes all over the world and have world wide service via subscription. why we in uk have to pay this old fashioned tv licence.... is time it went out with the ark... i am deaf the subtitles on bbc is god awful and getting worse over time.... it was good when it was teletext 888 now digital had a mind of its own it works or not..... i given up how many times i reset my freeview boxes to get subs back on.....

Rob: i know brain but its no excuse really....... its time we deaf fight for full access to tv end off.... we should not pay full licence fee at all... blind people get cheap tv licence so why not for the deaf.... lets be fair here.....
