I have to say... I do prefer Fm as DAB is unusable in the car if your going 70mph DAB just breaks up so badly while fm works fine... I do dread the day they switch off Fm for good in 2015......Just have to get ipod and fill it up with my songs...

Rob: Hi Jb38 sorry for long delay... had a nasty accident was in hospital.. anyway just to confirm the I do get BBC Oxford news and ITV meridian news from Oxford..However i get BBC south and ITV from Hannington but not that great as it comes in the back of my tv aerial that's pointing to Oxford.. its a triple stacked array type aerial i got from screwfix for 19.99... it works well with 26db mast head amp and power box. works well for 3 years so far......Bear in mind i am at the bottom of the village and i have a massive hill at the back of my house where hannington is coming in.. which is impossible to get a decent signal unless i get a aerial tower of 60 foot up lol. I wanted to combine London as i am deaf... the subtitles would often drop out either bbc or itv i can change region then get subtitles back... it was the same problem when we had the old anolougue tv via 888 on teletext.

I have noticed that commercial channels can be very pixely not breaking up it only shows on movies like itv2,itv3, and film four.. only shows up on large screen plasma tv.. but dont notice it on standard crt tv via digibox....

Kevin what aerial do you is it new one or old one...If the aerial is old one... check the cables if possible replace them with double screened cable and make sure the aerial is correctly lined up..an small movement can mess up the the signal. so try move it a little at a time till the signal is 80%.. i find if its 100% it be too much gain....will cause problems.I do think for London it should be a Group A areial the reason for that its group A's have a really good gain and picks up Crystal palace... If the booster is very old... try replacing it... i had one of mine burnt it self out. Hope my tips helps.

Rob: Hi Kevin.... Those one for all boosters are not that brilliant. If you get an labgear booster from screwfix they are cheaper than B&Q also alot of aerial installers use labgear for their installs. Now I have to say wideband aerial are ok for middle and upper bands. while London is a the very lower end of the band... Wideband aerials are terrible for covering that end of the band... So if you really want London.Go for group A aerial .. it dont have to be super high gain.... can you tell me where you live again? you can buy them on Ebay under SATAS they do a rang of group A areials in there under Blake and Triax.. around £20 to £25. hope this helps..

Kevin sorry the signal quality is more important than signal strength...... the quality should ideally at 80% that is how i used to set up SKY boxes.... but free view can be abit fiddly you do need a patience of a saint.. have you got a portable tv that you can use in the loft while your setting up your aerial..... it will help you and save you allot of running around...

Is it true that Local tv be on very low transmitter output where most people like me will not be able to pick it up?

I find bush products are very low quality I rather pay for abit more money for something more decent like Humax, samsung etc...You do find them in argos... but their advice is very limited and they do not know everything with their products.... if you have a richer sounds store go there as they have decent stuff for less than currys and anywhere else

I find with over IPTV service.... lack of subtitles for the deaf... i been deaf since birth..... didnt have 1st teletext tv till 1985 1st time i had 888 for subs... you thought by now technology moved on abit faster to put subtitles on... why we have to wait years for it to happen..........
