Redruth (Cornwall, England) DAB transmitter

Just had call from nice man at BBC. I reported the DAB problems in Falmouth, and he confirms they have received several complaints. Two engineers were sent out, but have found nothing so far. Investigations are continuing. It is nothing to do with the Penryn transmitter which only does Freeview, so still a mystery.

johng: I am keeping a diary for the next week for the man at the BBC; if anyone else wants to give me a %age reception on DAB at 7 am, midday, 4 pm and 8pm, I will pass it on. I score anything below 50% as unlistenable, 90% is occasional breakup. just post it here next Thursday evening with postcode.

johng: DAB here has been good now for over a week; had email from BBC saying that fault at transmitter had been fixed and everyone now reports good reception.

TR11 4QT - lost signal completely on one tv, other breaking up - getting worse over last few days, but thought we were pointing at Penryn for Freeview!

Falmouth - lost TV signal on Freeview almost completely today - nothing changed in setup, no building works, nothing indicated on engineering; happened a few weeks ago as well and came back after a day, but is getting irritating. Retuned twice. J

And just as suddenly, it all returns; no reason, system is only two years old and aerial not moved. :(
