Hi all,

Whats the bet that those caught out trot out all the usual bulshit such as,
"they strive for high standards but have failed on this rare occasion" "one rogue installer was acting without their knowledge"
& so on.

It would be laughable if it wasnt so damaging to the honest guys but it is still better that the crooks are exposed.

Hi Mike,

Not sure if the same guy or someone else phoned me yesterday with the same problem. I gave him exactly the same answer as you gave on this thread, this is a common problem here as every local transmitter is psb only & many people have invested in wenvoe rigs that have worked very well for years but now have these problems.

Im looking into aerial specs for a group B high gain very directional aerial with a very good front to back ratio to fit in future & to cure some existing installs. Thankfully I havent had any calls on our own installs but we align with rover meter / spectrum analizer rather than just point in the general direction like some do ! that may well make the difference.

The Bush hd box, under £80 at argos is the cheapest 12v freesat box.

Hi all,

Tonight my BT Vision box rebooted itself did a 1 min upgrade download rebooted again & now it has a full BBC I-player, the interface is ery clear & it responds faster than my foxsat hdr. Im very impressed with it so far & am hoping the will bring itv player etc to the platform.

Hi Brian,

I don't know what version it is but I'm sure its different to the version on the foxsat. Is there a way I can find out what version it is ?

jb38 / Bill

The "not insured line" is often used by the cheapo contractors to get out of doing jobs that will take more time than they are paid for to do the job.
They are paid a pittance & have to do so many jobs a day to make a living that they dont want to know about doing extra / difficult work.
This is not a defence of their behaviour just a explanation of what is going on.
Over a year after switchover we are still clearing up & putting right work done my the digital switchover contractors.
Bill, they got the contract because they bid cheap, too cheap in some peoples view to do the job properly.

Hi Penny,

Sorry, my suggestion is a freesat+ box & not a freeview+ box, my mistake as this thread is originaly about satellite, The hitachi freeview+ box is good value at £90 at argos but if you can stretch to a bit more the Humax pvr 9150 £130 at argos is a very good box.

I hope this is more helpful to you.

Hi dreja,

You will not get british channels with a freeview box in slovenia, your best bet is to use a slingbox.

Hi Ivan,

Buy a freesat from sky card for £25 from sky & you will get the channels you want.
You could manually tune channel 5 in "add channels" but it makes the box harder for you to use.
