Steve C: BBC Four HD is still being broadcast on COM7, sharing capacity with CBeebies HD, it hasn't closed although COM7 is set to close within the next 12 months. The BBC are making major changes to their HD channels on Freeview in order to make all BBC One regions available in HD, so it is possible that BBC Four HD and CBeebies HD may move to the PSB3 multiplex (although this is just speculation and has not been confirmed).

Paula mcmaster: According to the post above yours, there has been engineering work taking place at the Bluebell Hill transmitter this week, unfortunately it doesn't say when the work is due to be completed. Do not attempt to retune as this will just delete your correctly tuned channels and search for them again, the missing channels will start working again once the signal returns. If you have already retuned, you will need to wait for the engineering work to be completed before retuning again to restore the missing channels.

Alan Booth: Rosehearty is a lite transmitter covering only a few thousand homes, the commercial operators don't think the cost of providing additional multiplexes from a transmitter with such a low number of viewers is worthwhile. The Durris transmitter covering Aberdeen serves over 180,000 homes and therefore has enough viewers it to be profitable for the commercial broadcasters to make their channels available there. If you want more channels, look at getting Freesat.

Nigel Roberts: This is an independent technical help website, so nobody here has anything to do with operating any transmitter. The Betws-y-Coed transmitter covers just 3,000 homes so the commercial broadcasters are not interested in broadcasting their channels as there aren't enough viewers to make the cost of upgrading the transmitter worthwhile. If you provide a full postcode, we can check whether you might be able to receive more channels from another transmitter, otherwise look at getting Freesat.

Babs: 5Select hasn't changed LCN but has moved to the PSB3 multiplex which also carries Channel 5 HD on 105. If you can get Channel 5 HD on 105 then try retuning again.

Elaine Harrison: It isn't technically Freesat, but you will get all of the Free To Air (FTA) channels on a Sky box without a viewing card, although leaving the expired viewing card in the box will keep the correct BBC/ITV regions on 101/102/103 and give you access to a couple of Free To View (FTV) channels. There is no retuning necessary as the Sky box is already receiving all of the FTA channels, just carry on using it as normal (although you won't be able to watch any subscription channels or make/playback any recordings).

stephen p: ITV Wales is still broadcast in both SD and HD and should therefore appear on 103. The BBC channels in the 960+ range are all the different national/regional versions of BBC 1 & 2, apart from the correct region for your postcode which will be on 101/102. Loosing channels during a storm is a common problem as the weak satellite signals can be blocked by heavy rain (it used to happen to us when we had a Sky SD box years ago) although I haven't personally seen it happen with either a Sky HD or Freesat box. Are any other ITV channels missing such as ITV2/3/4/Be?

Audrey Haywood: No need to buy a new TV at all, just get a Freeview HD box for 40 and plug it into a HDMI socket on your existing TV.

Woz: Chis isn't the owner of the website, neither he nor any other contributor can change your email address. The only person who can do that is Briantist, who is the owner of UK Free TV. Also, every message submitted in the comments box at the bottom of each page gets published in the comments section the same page automatically (unless detected as spam) - nobody is choosing which ones to publish.

AcuteViewer: You would have to ask Sky (who own Pick) why they have changed the schedule after the listings were printed.
The streaming rights for content available on Britbox have been purchased by Britbox, out of revenue from subscriptions. All of the BBC content available on Britbox has previously been shown on BBC channels, subscribing and watching it on Britbox is the modern equivalent of buying a VHS or DVD of a programme which has previously been shown on the BBC. Your licence fee certainly doesn't fund any Britbox original content which hasn't previously been shown on the BBC. Britbox is 90% owned by ITV and 10% by BBC Studios (the commercial arm of the BBC which generates profits which are used to supplement licence fee income, giving the BBC a bigger budget that it would otherwise have, it does not spend licence fee money on commercial activities).
Channel 4 has always been on Freesat, perhaps you were referring to Channel 4 HD being removed a few years ago?
