Syd Wall: Hi Michael
poor signal on BBC1HD/BBC2HD/ITVHD etc comes in on 101/102/103 etc in CH40
Good signal on above channels comes in on 840/838/841 on CH 30

Poor signal on ITV/Ch4/Ch5 etc comes in on 3/4/5 on CH 46.
Good signal on above channels comes in on 800/802/807 etc on CH23
(i.e., Dave Lindsay, it is tuning automatically but it's not allocating numbers correctly automatically)

KMJ..thanks. My Humax has scanned automatically from UHF 21to 69 and correctly allocated channel numbers for years. I just want to know what the reasons are for it not doing so now! Humax say nothing wrong with the box and the transmitters aren't doing anything different.

Lark Stoke (Gloucestershire, England) Full Freeview transmitter

Thanks DaveI'm used to the 'odd' numbers now, so with more re-tuning coming up (new HD channels from Sutton but not Larkstoke), I'll wait until the next retune reminders come up on screen. I have to reset all my pre-set recording options so the less often I do it, the better. I could get the local aerial guy round to make measurements to see what the smallchanges might be, but not really worth the cost.
Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions

As a motorsport fan, I was looking forward to getting MotorsTV on my non-Smart LG HD TV with Humax HD machine. But I couldn't get it and now see that I have to have a Smart TV or internet connection to my Humax. Why is this? I don't understand the technology involved..why is it not just received over Freeview rather than streamed over the internet? My broadband speed is less than 1Mb so streaming on my PC is generally low quality and often buffered..no good for watching live TV. Very disappointed that Motors is not received as a standard Freeview channel.

Thanks Mike...I have got location 71 but there's no point in me getting the wireless dongle as my broadband is too slow. I won't get a speed upgrade for a year anreven then, BT can't say what speed it will be when it is complete.
My question was why is Motors TV streamed over the internet..why is it not broadcast so I can pick it up through my aerial?

I have had no messages on my Humax HDR saying a retune is due, but today, I noted that two sports programmes i set to record on ITV4 showed 0 minutes. Looking at the ITV4 channel, it said that ITV4 had moved and I should retune.
All other TV channels on channel 23 are still there..it's only ITV4 that's gone.
When I looked at my LG Smart TV attached to the Humax and my Sony set top box on the kitchen TV, ITV4 had gone there too...no other channels missing.
I retuned the Sony set-top box and the LG TV and ITV4 is back, still on channel 24.
Any idea what's happened?
A real pain to retune the Humax as all the recordings that are set (20 or so) have to be re-entered.

Thanks Brian. I meant that the re-tune always cancels all the scheduled recordings, not that it deletes what I have already recorded. Are you saying that the above process will rescan and still keep all the schedules I have set up? Great if so!

Hi - I've retuned by Humax HD box and LG HD TV but no sign of channel 91 for Front Runner. My postcode is CV36 4JN. Any suggestions or do I have to move house?
Thanks

Just checked the Larkstoke transmitter and see Front Runner is not broadcast from there. I'd have to retune to Sutton Coldfield
