Hi, up until fairly recently I had excellent freeview reception on BBC 1, 2, 3 & 4 (100% quality, 72% strength even with an old loft aerial) - because of this I had assumed that they were all on the same Mux.

1, 2 & 3 are still fine, but BBC 4 is now unwatchable - was it changed to Mux B recently?

Hi, mostly OK after switchover except that all stations on PSB2 are totally unwatchable now on Freeview, with severe breakup. I am in NG3 and have had no problems with these before. It is infuriating that I can't watch ITV, CH4 or CH5 but can get wonderful reception on cr*p like QVC and Price Drop TV. I assume that this is a temporary problem - please advise.

Judging by the number of problems raised on various switch-over message boards right across the country, would it be not be fair to say that 'going digital' has been nothing short of a disaster for very many people.

How can something so long in the pipeline (allegedly overseen by experts) have caused so many ordinary viewers so much personal time and effort? The simplistic idea that it was just going to be a case of seamlessly replacing one system with another has been shown to be a load of old cobblers: most people just want to be able to turn on their television and get good reception on programmes that they enjoy, not have to endlessly fiddle around with manual tunings, repositioning the aerial or worry about getting 'too strong' a signal (quite the most bizarre notion to any rational mind).

Here in Carlton, Nottingham, the stations on PSB1 have been unwatchable for several extended periods this week (Wednesday evening and tonight) - these are all normally coming through at 100%, but have been reduced to around 80-85% with continual break up. This surely indicates more than "a reduction in power for a few minutes [...] in the interests of safety" and also represents pretty poor service.

Precisely what is the nature of the current engineering works and when exactly will they be completed? The information "Over the next week Waltham main transmitter: TV (digital) Liable to interruption" doesn't have a date attached to it so it is impossible to know how many forthcoming days it refers to! After just re-tuning to see if that improved the situation, I now have 30 stations (including radio) as opposed to the usual plethora. This would not be a bad thing in itself, but the BBC stations are still unwatchable and have gone down to arounbd 75-80% quality with 71% strength. All I know is that everything worked perfectly well on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of this week and that on Wednesday and since yesterday it has gone belly-up. Grrr ...

Today (Sunday) all the channels on PSB2 clearly feel that they are being left out of the party and have now emulated those on PSB1, dropping in both signal strength and quality to the point of continual break-up. Excellent!
