Michael Towler: ITV4 (24) should already be receivable from the Austwick relay transmitter, as programme is transmitted by the same multiplex as used by ITV / Channel 4 / 5 and seven other programmes.
If for any reason ITV4 (24) is not seen in the EPG listings, carry out a retune to update the programme guide, "Tour de Yorkshire" being broadcast on 29th April between 11.45am - 5.00pm.

steph: The problem referred to can be caused by a number things as well issues related to the terrain surrounding your area, therefore, its not really possible for anyone to offer advice unless your location is known, this preferably given in the form of a post code or one from somewhere nearby, e.g: a shop / Post office.

Rachael RENO: Assistance / advice on issues concerning reception problems can only be given in cases where a persons location is known, therefore a post code or one from a nearby shop / Post office is required, this info used to enable access to details of the transmitter covering your area as well as the operational status of same.
Another point being, as you have reported that other residents in the cul-de-sac are also affected by the problem the question would be, whether (or not) the households referred to are all connected into a communal aerial system? because if they are?, then the aerials distribution amplifier has possibly failed.
However, irrespective of the aforementioned, further advice can be given once your location is known.

Paul Curtis : Rowridges PSB1 - 2 - 3 multiplex transmitters have an ERP of 200Kw on both horizontal and vertical polarities but not where COM4 - 5 - 6 is involved, as 200Kw only applies to transmissions on vertical polarity, horizontal being limited to 50Kw to avoid the possibility of causing interference to Stockland Hill's COM transmissions on the same frequency, i.e: C25 - C22 - C28.
Many viewers located at the extremities of Rowridges coverage area sometimes experience slightly erratic reception of the three COM channels, likewise choose to use vertical polarity for reception to take advantage of the higher powered signal, the downside of this being, that this action restricts reception of Rowridges newer COM7 / 8 Mux transmitters, as these only radiate on horizontal polarity at a much lower power of 24.4 Kw / 25Kw respectively.
As far as your location is concerned, vertical polarity is indicated as providing a superior signal over that of horizontal on COM 4 -5 - 6, reception indicated on DUK's predictor as being variable on horizontal polarity.

Bernadette O'Keeffe: Gold was a programme channel on the now defunct Top up TV box system, are you using this? However, irrespective of what you are using try carrying out a manufacturers reset followed by a retune.

Paul Curtis: Well, nothing is really set in stone where RF signals are concerned, but judging by the levels indicated for your area from the H polarity 50Kw Com4/5/6 transmitters, I feel that its unlikely that you would receive anything of a workable strength from Com7 & 8 using a vertically polarised aerial, let alone the 10kw LSO transmitter.
I will say though, that the reception in your area must be a tad higher than the DUK predictor would suggest, as you are not indicated as being able to receive the LSO transmitter, your location being just outside of the beamed signals coverage area.

Paul Curtis: Yes, that's by far your best policy, as vertical polarity is only really of any advantage in area's that suffer from "iffy" reception of Com4/5/6 on horizontal polarity.

Andrew Porter: Your EPG list requires updating, the simplest way being to carry out a retune "after" having first of all removed the aerial connector, this action blanking out everything stored in the tuners memory system, checking it has done by witnessing "no signal" when you try to select anything, finally, reconnect the aerial and carry out a second retune to repopulate the EPG list.
If by any chance this fails to resolve the problem, then you will have to carry out a "manufacturers reset" on the TV, this on some models referred to as "default setting", "first time installation" etc.

linda: HD ready TV's are only fitted with DVB-T (SD) tuners, the term "HD ready" simply meaning that the viewing panel (screen) fitted into the TV is capable of displaying HD images and "not" that it can actually receive HD (DVB-T2) transmissions, said images having to be from an external input source such as a Freeview HD box coupled into the TV via an HDMI lead, a small reliable device ideal for this purpose being a Manhattan Plaza HD-T2 Freeview HD receiver at around 43.00 or so from various retailer.
By the way, you should note that said by KMJ,Derby in the posting immediately preceding your own, insomuch that you have to reside in an area where COM7 transmissions can be received, advice on this only possible if your location is known, i.e: a post code or one from somewhere nearby such as a shop / Post office.
