Expecting 4G interference? Tests now show that you have a one

Alan Ripley- Your HD channels are on a different 'stream' to BBC and shouldn't be a part of your problem, whats your postcode and which Transmitter are you using ? if your losing CH4 then you should also lose CH5 and ITV2 ? without a post code I cannot tell if 4G is to blame

Chris White, MikeB, Mike P-Can I just ask for a little more depth here ?
Is it only at night for updates ?
I tell older folks that, If they want, Turn of at the plug when they go to bed but put the box back on standby in the morning even if they do not intend to watch TV, I also say the same fpr Freeviw boxes and TV's as they search for updates in standby mode.
Can these updates be missed and never have a chance of getting back?
If the box has an auto update option in its menu, is this the same thing?
Many Thanks

Jack Luxon, MikeB- If a checklist or a simple query of problems were put in before the question box, wouldn't that turn into another page to bypass before just putting your question anyway ?
I've done this myself and so did Jack with his first question?

Jack Luxom, MikeB- I agree with the main point of a postcode being asked for, but within 2 posts the list of requests had grown!!
People who do comeback with a postcode have got the attention of someone who is willing to help, And are willing to take on the info given also.
I would have thought people posting on this site have, At least, Read through some of the posts to begin with ?

J.A.WESTON- If you have lost BBC1 then BBC2, 3, 4 and NEWS should be missing? Do you have a BBC1 on CH801 as this sometimes happens when 2 transmitters are picked up on the TV's auto search

I was tuning a YouView box in yesterday, it has no manual tune but does give me a region selection.
The area is DE55 in Sth Derbyshire and the aerial is aligned to Waltham.
I had region choices of East MIds, London ! and Kent,
That answered it for me, even tho we should no longer suffer Atmospherics ?

How do I know if the 4G broadband will overload my Freeview? |

Viv Gunton, I would assume if a filter helped a problem over 3 months old? A rogue signal has appeared ? simply could be a CB aerial has been put up? or an extensive alarm system set up locally?
If the advice from Sony to fit a 20db Amp to your system has work, I will assume you live in a poor signal area ?

Rob, MikeB- Just a point from reading your replies, Sky will charge for installation if you do not take up subscription.
This may be up to £175 for dish and cable?
Sky will also charge a sale price for a "Skybox" The HD box costing around £299 for a replacement to a Sky subscriber!
Their £65 call out to subscribers will be a reconditioned box, Sky wont be interested in after sales problems for non subscribers.
The extra channels do depend on what you prefer to watch but ALL the channels from Sky will be in the EPG to tempt you.
Overall I believe the cost of Installing either system will not differ to much on the first outlay
