Upgrading from Sky to Freesat | Freesat

Sharon McGaffin, Does the freesat box have 2 or 3 cable connections on the back ?
Some boxes have a third 'port' on the back labled 'lnb out' which is for recording use when you have only 1 cable
This should not be used and may confuse the box?

Brian, Can you manuel tune your TV? it may be that Sutton is overidding Waltham thus the series link is settling with the wrong transmitter ? if you autotune without the aerial connected (to wipe all stations from memory) then manual tune the Waltham transmitter frequency's one at a time
29, 49, 54, 56, 57, hd 58
This should solve the problem

Ron Hammond , Where are you mate? which transmitter do you use ?
this helps to give an answer
It is, basically, impossible to lose 1 channel on freeview, if you are using freeview ?

Briantist: Ian , if anyone on here wants to discuss the reliability of bbc1, bbc2, itv, ch4 or ch5 between analogue or digital, then they have a valid point.
But to be fair, if they want to compare itv2,3,4 bbc3,4 , cbbc, dave, pick, yesterday, 4music, e4, more4, 5*, 5usa, 4/7 then they are recieving something that they cant have thro analogue?
i have seen comments about these channels with "they shouldnt have changed it"
Also, 90% of the probs on here do seem to be in house?
we are using a brand new system and electricity (or the wheel) had their early day flaws !
i do believe modern tech tries to cram more than poss into their gadgets (tv's mobiles, cars ect)
Just my opinion chaps

Brian,
Does your machine have an "auto update" or "new channel message" function within its menus ?
There may be a possibility, with s-coldfield being before waltham in tuning, that overnight updates
are upsetting the memory of your harddrive ?

If you had Sky+ in your bedroom, then all you need is a freesat+ box, freeVIEW+ needs a working aerial feed

I have freesat just to watch "local news" from the BBC every morning, i live in east mids but only receive s, coldfield transmitter !
Put the BBC on every morning to see what weather im going to face on the roofs ?,
See my local sports, traffic reports and whats happening in the nearest cities to me
Im sorry but "the mighty boosh" definitely will not do to replace the reason i turn the TV on in the evening either?!
I get many calls about people wanting "local news" also, so i know im not alone in my feelings !
If anything i would like to see local news as an option on red button so i didnt have to rely on satellite, if that is possible
I agree to streamlinig an expensive service but not scrapping local news, what are the viewing figures across the board for that time slot ?
