Mervyn Carter : what do you mean by MUX 2? Post switchover (July 2011) there is no MUX of that name.

Russell Battle : ArqA is now on high power BUT has moved up the 'dial' to Channel 60 (from 54). If you have an 'old' Group-B aerial (which only officially goes to CH53), that would explain why it is struggling to pull in CH60. Are you now getting ArqB on Ch56 OK? (was on low-power on CH63 until 27th)

Mrs Baker : see my answer to Russell Battle. 5* is now part of SDN which is being broadcast on Channel 58 (up from 49) so if you, too, have an old aerial you could be struggling to get that and ArqA on CH60.

Have noticed that there is an interruption every day at 3.29 p.m. It only lasts a few seconds but is at exactly the same time each day for the last few days. Not sure if it is every MUX as have been on BBC1/2 for the tennis every time!

Nick : I know this has been a long-running saga, but I guess you did rule out something else interfering on Channel 60? Old VCR or something using that channel somewhere in the circuit?

Heading on this and the 2nd-stage pages have wrong date (June instead of September).

Sudbury not on the list, as usual. Everyone in Suffolk is, of course, too busy getting the harvest in to bother with HD channels ...

Since my last software update on my Sky HD box, every time I switch it on it is sitting on Channel 998, irrespective of what channel it was last on / recording. Is this a new 'feature'?? It's not a big problem ; I just wondered why it was happening and is it everyone?

Sorry, I meant 'bring out of standby' : it is never switched/powered off (apart from when we had a power cut last month during the storms). I have got someone at Sky on the case, as there is another guy who has the same issue, also starting when they sent out the latest software update (which added enhanced search facilities). Have done a Planner Rebuild as they suggested, but makes no difference. When I come out of standby after a few hours, it is always now on 998, at any time of day. If it has only been on standby for a few mins, it comes back on the last channel, as it should. It is as if it is repeating the update every few hours, and then leaving the box on 998.

Have experimented, and found this happens after the box has been on Standby recording 2 channels simultaneously. In fact, when I called up the Planner to check both were recording, it told me if I wanted to watch Ch 998, I'd have to stop one of the recordings. I actually stopped both, and then hit the Sky button for live TV, and it took me to a blue screen that claimed to be Ch 102 (the channel I was on before going to Standby), but when I hit channel DOWN it went to Ch 996, and UP took me to Ch 998.
