Well explained MikeP. I was wondering how to explain the situation to Tony. Well done Mike!

Vik - I receive my Freeview Channels from the Divis Transmitter in Northern Ireland and the channels you speak of haven't changed here! Are you sure that you are on the right UHF channel?

Hi!

I reside in Belfast Northern Ireland and my question relates to changes due to COM7 HD and COM8 HD. Currently I receive COM7 HD on UHF 33 and COM8 HD on UHF 34. There is a retune event due for both COM7 HD and COM8 HD on the 4th September 2019. This retune will move COM7 HD currently on UHF 33 to UHF 51 and COM8 HD currently on UHF 34 to UHF 60. A further retune event is planned for the period January to March 2020. In this retune COM7 HD will move to UHF 55 and COM8 HD to UHF 56. My interest in these retunes is; I currently receive Saorview from the RTE transmitter located Clermont Carn in North Co. Louth. They currently use two Multiplexes and they transmit on UHF 52 and UHF 56. Does anyone on UKFreeTV know what will happen to Saorview at the retune planned for the period January to March 2020?

Re: the move for Com 6 and Com 7 from UHF 33 and 34 to UHF 51 and 60, and then next year the move to UHF 52 and 56. Where are the two Saorview multiplexes from the Saorview Transmitter on Clermont Carn Co. Louth which are currently transmitting on UHF 52 and 56 moving to? I have emailed RT asking this question but to date they have not replied!

Re: Julie - on most TV Smart Sets there is a facility to block any channel (including Adult Channels) from viewers who don't have your password for the set. I have my Adult Channels blocked this way. Worth having a look at your TV Set!

MikeP: I did use the term: most - which indicates what not all will have this facility. I have 6 receivers in my home - each of the 4 bedrooms have a set along with both my living room and my sitting room and they all have the facility to block individual channels. Just because your set doesn't have such a facility doesn't mean that all don't have it!

Chris.SE - I agree 100%, Brian does a full time job besides managing this site. Through the years he has found time to constantly update this site. At present due to his full time job and the number of UHF Channel changes with the clearance of the 700 MHz band it is only natural the amount of work required to keep abreast of the changes is a full time job in itself. I believe Brian deserves a big thank you and not criticism!

Divis (Northern Ireland) transmitter

Hi all! I live in North Belfast and receive my Freeview TV from the Divis Transmitter. I also get the three RT TV channels and the RT Radio channel from the Black Mountain transmitter's NIMM an UHF 48. I receive all of the other channels transmitter from the Divis Transmitter with the exception of UHF 55 which carries the multiplex COMM 7.

I can't understand how I do not receive COMM 7 - anyone any suggestions?

Also, UHF Channels 55 and 56 are due to be cleared (for Mobile Internet use) by June 2020, why are they still in use - again has anyone any suggestions? After all, Saorview Multiplexes 1 and 2 were on UHF Channels 52 and 56 from Clermont Carn Co. Louth but they cleared these two channels and moved their Multiplexes to UHF Channels 42 and 45. Why did Ofcom allow COMM 7 and COMM 8 to be moved to channels that their use for Television Transmission needs to be relinquished by June 2020 - anyone know an answer to this one also?
