Mike, thanks! Today ITV3 appeared on both my Freeview devices, so I'm again able to view a lot of my favourite stuff.
The reason why I really missed ITV3 on my DVD recorder is that I can bypass the ads with 1 click on my remote. That's the reason I record so much stuff, in a typical 1 hour programme, 19 minutes are ads!

Since the analogue switchover, I've lost ITV3 on Freeview on both my Sony DVD Recorder and my Sony TV. Virgin Media cable is fine.
