Hi, I've stopped subscribing to Sky,kept the skyplus box and bought a Humax PVR-9150T freeview recorder so I can record, use live pause and playback. Is it possible to connect the Humax to the dish via the sky box or direct or anything in between? And what is an RF cable please? Sorry for my technical know how deficiences!

Thanks very much JB 38. I assume therefore that I will need to have a digital aerial put up as I have only the old type. Or is there a simpler way to get my Humax up and running? Would be grateful to hear from you again.

Gerry: Thanks again for your patience JB38. Now you see what I meant when I said I was know how deficient! My post code is NR13 5NG. I'll try auto tune - if I can understand how to do it. My problem is that I sometimes don't understand the terms used eg RF cable.
Kind regards
Gerry

Gerry:JB 38 I managed to set it up as you advised and it works fine. There is however quite a distinct hum from it. Is that normal? Anyway it's bearable so many thanks again for all your help
Kind regards
Gerry

Gerry: Hi once again JB38. You solved it for me yet again! It was the vibration. As soon as I lifted it the hum stopped so I'll have to get the advised rubber socks. There is one further thing in this apparently never ending story. When I switch on a warning comes, albeit only very briefly - just long enough to read. It says that my aerial has a short circuit. However since everything works fine I've ignored it. Hopefully I'm not asking for trouble. Any thoughts would be most appreciated. Whatever happens I wish you a great and trouble free Christmas.
Kindest regards Gerry.

Gerry:Hi JB38, Problem sorted thank you. Could it be that I wont have to bother you anymore? We'll see. Bye, at least for the time being.
Best Christmas wishes from me
