Channels 33,49,50,54,55,56,& 58 all good signal strength & quality but channel 59 from the Pontop Pike transmitter shows good signal strength but poor signal quality, could this be a 4G problem or something else? Any ideas anyone.

I,m sorry but I have disagree with the idea that ITV are doing better than the BBC,apart from a few very good dramas such as Broadchurch ITV schedules are full of soaps & reality tv shows. I know this is down to personal choice but just look at the BBC daytime output compared to ITV for me no comparison really.

This post might be in the wrong site but who supplies the parts for the Manhattan branded boxes or do they manufacture their own.

MikeB. Hi Mike, just an update regarding the anticipated delivery of the Manhattan HDR-S freesat PVR. It started giving problems from the get go with problems like green screen effect, ptcture break up & would not control the T.V. sound so it went straight back to Amazon. So I think you are right pay a bit more & go with Humax...........Cheers....Dave.

The best of times for the BBC?

Hi Briantist, I t still rankles me the stories of waste within the B.B.C. such as the enormous payoffs & the jollies they have. If the likes of this money was spent on the services you have mentioned the hard working licence fee payer may not have as much gripe with the broadcaster.

MikeB: Totally agree Mike, and I would not put Briantist down at all as he does a great job with this website alone. I would still think there is a lot of waste within a very large organisation where they seem to have managers to manage managers, I do agree with your comments on local t.v. Made in Tyne & Wear has just started broadcasting here in the northeast & although it is early days it looks totally worse than amateurish.

I still can,t understand a need for national & international news on BBC1 now when there is a rolling 24 hour news channel. By all means keep the local news but no need for national.

MikeB: Take a look at what Alan Yentob gets paid for both his job descriptions, it is the BBC that's being discussed here not ITV.
