Thinking of moving from Freebies to Freesat due to signal problems (Can't get all HD channels) and weather. Any advice?

I have had several ideas
Idea 1 - Move the UKTV channels up a slot and then the BBC should try and get support for another UKTV channel on Freeview e.g. GOLD. Considering BBC 3's closure, I take it the HD version will close as well meaning there is a free HD slot so Dave HD could come onto Freeview as well. (BBC own 50% of UKTV)
Idea 2 - The BBC launch a movies channel as the BBC already have rights to broadcast a lot of movies (BBC 3 broadcasts a lot of movies already)
Idea 3 - The BBC launch a Polish station that would work similar to BBC Alba and S4C
Opinions?

MikeB: The BBC temporarily closed CBBC during the Olympic and Commonwealth Games so BBC Three could show events all day

Tried Freeview's reduction thing. Came up with Crystal Palace transmitter and I put a Glasgow postcode in as I live in Glasgow.

A new telly costs a lot of money which most people don't have. Freeview are exploiting the public by making everyone, even those who can't afford it, have an HD thing. I have an HDTV but my family inherited it from my late Gran due to our old telly going kaput first on the day after the election and then a week later. We couldn't afford a new one.

MikeB: Firstly my surname is Livingston not livinstone. Secondly what about the families who need foodbanks because they can't afford a simple meal won't be able to afford the prices you said and £279 could pay for a family's heating bills. So yes HDTVs are moderately cheap, families who are strapped for cash would rather spend it on something that had a higher priority e.g. food or heating bills. Plus to give you and idea well off my family is, I go to an fee-paying school and my family still can't pay for a new TV. Fortunately, we don't use foodbanks or struggle with paying heating bills.

J Theabald: Before Freeview was set up, BSkyB was only competing with Analogue TV. BSkyB is only there as they wanted a TV rival. Source: Wikipedia page about Freeview.
