I receive Eurosport International with English sound on Astra 19.2 analogue.
This service is closing and going Digital on
31st April.If I swap my Analogue box for a
digital one, will I still be able to receive
my Eurosport with English sound or will it only be in German?

I read somewhere that Eurosport was on the
Hot Bird satellite, but I cannot find it any
Channel List.I am seeking one with English sound to replace the one on Astra 19.2E (Analogue) that is closing down on 30th April.I would not be averse to buying a card
but I do not want a bundled package!

Loft aerials | Installing
Friday 20 April 2012 3:40PM

Geoff Nice: A large number of aerial elements
will not help at all if the signal is not there in the first place. If you had some trace of signals, they would improve it,but
not otherwise.I presume you have tried different positions within your loft.(Not just elevations, but actual locations)

Whole house digital TV | Installing

petermckniff: Yes,it is easily done. There are
two ways.Either go to your nearest Pound shop
or similar and buy a 2 way coaxial splitter
module.Plug your aerial to the input socket
of the module, and plug the TVs into the
separate output sockets. This way you will
halve the signal level to each TV so it is
not the best way unless you have a strong
signal from a good aerial.Your other option
is to purchase an amplified 2 way aerial
splitter box.This is mains-operated,and will
cost you under £10 in Argos or Maplins.

David Gardiner: The switching on and off
happens at pre-set times according to the make of box.It is to update the EPG with the
forthcoming programme schedules,so that when
you use it later, you will not have to wait
for the data to download.

janet armstrong. There are 2 reasons why the
Analogue was switched off in favour of
Digital. One is to enable many more channels
to be transmitted all at once ("Freeview")
and the other is to enable the vacated
analogue channels to be sold off by the
govt to get some more money in.

I am contemplating buying a Smart TV which
gives access to BBC iPlayer from a broadband
wi-fi router.I already have this for use with
my wi-fi laptop. My query is : Do smart TVs use
the same kind of wi-fi signal as laptops,or
do they require a special router?

I raised a question in August whether a Smart TV would work off the same Wi-fi as radiated
from a broadband router already set up for
use with a Wi-fi laptop.I can now confirm that this is so,but to activate this you have to
input the access code from the underside of your router(With the Smart TV remote control)

I read in 2 publications that BBC Iplayer is
now available on Freesat, but I cannot see it
on their epg,and I cannot figure out how it
could work without a link from me to them.

A newspaper report today (01/02/13)says that
BT are to launch a Sports Channel in the
Summer,with Premier League football,Rugby,and
800 hours of WTA tennis. If these are exclusive
rights, there will be many disappointed fans
who have taken out contracts with other
providers for these particular sports.Does
anyone have more details on this, please?
