Hi,
I live about 5 miles south of Winchester in a Park Home. My ariel is horizontal, pointing to Rowridge. A couple of days ago the Film4 was very bad, almost unwatchable. It was worse everytime a plane took off from Southampton Airport northwards towards Winchester. Would VP be better

I'll give it a go.
I'll also check alignment with a Maplin A55HJ Aerial Signal Strength Meter which I have

I'm back
Firstly the aerial.
No coloured tips. All plastic mounts are black and brittle!!!!!!
Turned the elements vertical and tested.
Got occasional flickers on the 70dB led.
Hooked up TV lead and checked TV. Best signal quality I've ever had on Film4 and Really, which have always been pretty weak.
Picture ok for now but I think that a new aerial is on the cardsTerry

hi my postcode is so0211tg with a red tipped 16 element yagi type aerial with the elements vertical, aimed at rowridge. The signal profile from Charles Macfarlane / Java Jive suggests "60% Fresnel Zone - Obstructions into this probably WILL significantly affect the signal". Would I do better with a High gain aerial?
