I think it is good news that Ofcom wants to limit the amount of frequencies any single company can own.
But they will all want the 2.6GHz ones which are better in cities and
not the ones that can carry less data but over larger distances in the country side.
Hope they are limited to a bit of all frequencies and not aloud to take all their quota from the most provable ones.

PS. You don't have to answer every question, just the difficult ones nobody else now the answer to. :o)
Hope you stop having nightmares about this site.

Can I use a ex-Sky box to receive aerial Freeview? | Help! Diff

DT, Quick answer; NO.

Sky gets it's channels from a satellite using a satellite dish.
Virgin gets its channels down your phone line using a broadband telephone line.
For a one off payment get a Freesat box and connect it to the Sky satellite dish.
You will now get all the free satellite channels.

Mark Mcgregor.
Only the BBC know what programs they are going to show, until they publish their future viewing program list.

Upgrading from Sky to Freesat | Freesat

Paul M. Timmins.

I believe that some HD boxes will display a HD channel in standard divination using the SCART socket.
But this may vary from 'HD Freesat box' to 'HD Freesat box'.
Just plug in your box or look at the instructions and let us know.

I'm sure there are a lot of people that don't want to replace their old TV yet, but want to see some of the BBC HD channel programs in SD.

Should be 'standard definition'
and not 'standard divination'.

Strange they didn't also clear channel 30 from DTT and use 37 for PMSE and 38 for DTT
or use 61 for DTT to keep all DTT together.

Network Z - BBC 7 - BBC Radio 7 now becomes BBC Radio 4 Extra,

Radio 7 is to become Radio 4 Extra.
If one day it plays the same Radio 4 programs only, then they could close Radio 4 Extra and transmit Radio 4 in stereo.
Less choice, but in stereo.

I was just saying that if the BBC decide to close down Radio 4 Extra to save money with their cutbacks,
they would then have room to transmit any other channel in stereo.
I hope they don't as I like the drama and comedy programs they play.
Radio 5 and Radio 5 Sports Extra could also become one station one day.

We need to know where you are getting your TV from.
If you get it from the Mendip transmitter (See digital switchover date | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice will need a group C/D, E or a bigger wideband aerial horizontal mounted.
If you get it from one of its relays or another transmitter then you may need a different
aerial group or a wideband one, vertical mounted.

For info on aerial types see;
Freeview reception - all about aerials | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice
How good are different aerial groups;
Aerial group performance | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice

If you know which transmitter you are using let us know.

Final switchover for Sandy Heath and Nottingham on 13th April i

Public service (relay) transmitters.
I believe you will also get "Sky Sports 1" and "Sky Sports 2"
on PSB 3.
These are subscription channels.
Why there are payment channels on a public service multiples is another question.
I for one would perfer two more free channels. EG ITV3, ITV4, Film4 etc.

But Sky want us to give them money!
