Thanks jb38,FJC. I concur with everything you've said. Let's hope, that in the coming years these issues will be resolved, so jo average can get great pictures without having to fiddle around too much, or be bombarded with a plethora of settings, which most people don't know how to use let alone understand!

JB38* If I can get Freeview in Ash Vale, does this mean I can get the HD signals as well. I am thinking of upgrading my tv to one with a Freeview HD tuner. Thanks, martyh

Jb38, thanks. At the mo I am considering the Panasonic Smart Viera range of tv's, such as the E5 series/ET5 series, although after a chat with my local dealer, I'll hang on a bit as Panasonic are bringing out uprated improved verions of current models in about a month. All boast Freeview HD capability. I had a chance to view 3 different tv's in store with megahertz ratings ranging from 150 up to 1600, from standard Freeview broadcasts and was pretty amazed at how sharp even the 150 mhz model was. Also, I wasn't aware of the refresh rate being so important in definition terms. If you go back over my posts I'm sure you'll remember all that trouble I had with my Philips CRT and the new signal, where I bought a dongle in the end to get the 2k channels. I get 105 channels (inc radio, BBC, ITV etc) right now (Ash Vale), so it sounds quite promising from what you said. Many thanks, martyh

Hi Jb38. Would you care to give your opinion on the link that follows, under the heading: '4G to affect TV reception in two million homes'? BBC News - 4G to affect TV reception in two million homes (BBC News Website). Regards, martyh.
