How come now we are being told we might not get all F reeview channels after turn off when before we were told if we get the channels on freeview now, we would get them after turn off?

Belated thanks to M Dimmick for his helpful reply.

Well, following the switchover we seem to have all the channels but on Wednesday night while we were watching 'Who do you think you are' on the DVB TV, the picture kept breaking up, as did BBC2 but not ITV. When we switched to the DVD player, which has Freeview, there was no problem, the picture was fine. Any suggestions as to why this was happening?

Thanks for that Briantist
Things seem to have settled down ... we got all the channels no problem but same time each night the signal broke up when we were watching BBC1 or 2 on the TV Freeview but not when we watched through the DVD Freeview. Now even that seems to have eased.

Thanks Briantist ... also realised that the aerial goes through the DVD/VCR combi to the TV ... and the darling cat had jostled the scart lead between them!!
Just shows it's not always digitals fault.

We only have Freeview and happily pay the 40p or so that allows us to watch the BBC and any other available channels. As pensioners, who still pay for our licence, we would not like to be forced to pay more ... and if the BBC lost the licence, we would certainly have to pay far more and probably be able to access fewer channels.
People over the channel can pick up the BBC and watch in preference to the own stations ... Think that suggests familiarity breeds contempt. The BBC is really an asset we cannot afford to lose.

We are in the Keighley area and have more than one TV ... only one will not pick up 20 or 21. It is the only one using an indoor aerial and Freeview box. It only start happening a couple of days ago and resetting has not helped.

Yet again it seems that the very people who actually pay the TV licence are to be ignored! Who will actually pay for no TV TV? There will always be those who cannot follow this digital age so they will be set adrift. Surely there has to be a fair alternative, some freedom of choice. This way it is 'our way or no way'.
