It appears nobody has any comments about the rubbish subtitles I'm getting in the West Midlands on certain channels.

Thanks for that Mike.
Perhaps you could advise me who might actually be interested in the provision of subtitles on TV programmes. The TV channels say it's not their problem as subtitles are added by others.
I assume from what you say the individual transmitters have no interest in viewers problems listed in this website. If I Google "Contact Sutton Coldfield Transmitter" this website is top of the page. How do I contact Sutton Coldfield Transmitter, or is the answer,you can't?
I have posed the question to Ofcom but I don't hold out much hope they will do anything either.

During "Doctors" today on BBC1 at lunchtime we had a screen pop up three times.
The pop up consisted of a central red spot at the top with an "R" against. All sorts of numbers & words around the four edges. Each time I got the camera ready it disappeared. We are on the Sutton Coldfield transmitter.
Has anyone any idea what caused this?

Hi Sutton Coldfield
I am experiencing poor subtitling on a few Freeview channels. The main culprits seem to be on your COM 4 MUX, eg Drama, ITV3, ITV3+1.
The problem I am getting is very poor synchronising of the subtitles. At times they are up to 10 seconds early, then they will stop, re-appear in synch and then gradually start appearing early again. On Monday evening I recorded George Gently on Ch 20(Drama) and Grantchester (ITV1). These two programmes overlapped between 8.00pm to 10.00pm. The George Gently subtitles were terrible whereas Grantchester's were perfect.
Have you any idea what may be causing this problem? I have had the problem for some time now.
