They really are trying - and to a certain extent succeeding - in making this digital switchover a right royal pain in the arse. Another retune inconvenience just because some company has been promising something it can't deliver. I thought that the DSO was supposed to be a 'do it once and forget it' exercise?

Comet (part of the Kesa Electricals) is not the same company as Currys, Dixons and PC World (DSG Retail Ltd).

Do some research before speaking out...

Great... another retune for Mendip, as Ch61 is BBCA and Ch62 is SDN. Will it ever end?

Didn't last very long, did it? Challenge disappeared from our Freeview TV last Wednesday halfway through the Crystal Maze - and despite many retunes since then, it hasn't come back!

I have done a complete retune on the main TV in the house, twice; I have deleted the MUX A channel and manually retuned it several times; I am getting every other channel on MUX A - ITV3, ITV2+1, 5*, 5USA, Quest, etc - perfectly - what else do I need to do to get this one missing channel back? Is it still being transmitted from Mendip?

Just done a complete retune on both PVRs and the TV - just as I have been doing every other day since my daughter found Challenge was missing - and Challenge has returned to the line up - WTF? Now have a happy daughter...

It's over a year since this was given the 'go-ahead' by OFCOM - and nothing more since. Have the BBC given up, or are they now trying to discover how to actually do it?

@John (31/10) - I have a dual-scart Dion box from Tesco on a small TV in a bedroom - quality is fair, scanning both auto and manual good - I don't think the quality is good enough for a large Full HD FS TV, but YMMV - only downside I've found is you can't switch off the automatic search for software update and more often than not this hangs and you have to reboot the unit...

2 million Freesat customers | Freesat

What's your beef, Kate? - Two million units have been sold - that makes 2 million purchasers (i.e. customers) - as it is likely that there would be more than one viewer at each installed location I would say that the number of viewers of FreeSat would be more than the 2 million 'customers' that have been claimed - a bit on an *under-estimate*, wouldn't you say - don't forget that the article is a quote from a daily newspaper on a subject of interest to the users of this website - whether you believe the original source or not, don't knock this website for 'bias' when it is freely reporting what has been printed elsewhere.

Iain, I can think of at least two reasons why the shows you mention (and others) haven't had repeat showings - (i) getting the rights to show them again (an often-used excuse) and (ii) do the shows still survive in the BBC Archives at all or if they do, are they in a fit state to be shown?
