Morag Ritchie: Hi, Morag. AB42 1RY is not giving any results, I'm afraid. My reference website says "error, the postcode you have entered is not valid". We must have a valid postcode or a road or street name and a village or town name to help you or your father. Sorry! Richard in Norwich.

Newhaven (East Sussex, England) DAB transmitter
Tuesday 20 September 2016 7:39PM

Seafordrose: It will be good if D1 coverage is able to fill all the holes in FM reception of Classic FM. Residents of east Sussex and Kent have been the poor relations in terms of radio and TV coverage from the 1940s to the 1990s. Richard in Norwich.

Newhaven (East Sussex, England) DAB transmitter

Brian Spiby: Hi, Brian. Someone else on this UKFREE.TV website was complaining about Newhaven DAB being off the air the other day. That person was unable to get a good alternative signal on 103.9 FM from Brighton at his particular location, so you're luckier than him in that you can! Richard, Norwich.

Mark: Hi, Mark. Since the Manchester and Liverpool groups of channels are both transmitted on the same UHF TV channel, which is UHF channel 56, I don't really know what to advise, because as they're both using the same frequency the only thing to differentiate between them is radiation pattern direction, meaning that the Liverpool-biased local TV & radio stations are 'beamed from Winter Hill South West towards Liverpool, whereas the Manchester ones are beamed South East towards Manchester, so looking at your postcode, it would appear that just North East of Adlington railway station your house is in the 'line of fire' from Winter Hill towards Liverpool and so, because of this, I can't work out how it would be possible, at your location, to pick up the Manchester local services, for which you'd need to be located in-between Winter Hill and Manchester City itself. United doesn't feature in this response!!! I suppose you could contact the transmission company, Arqiva, to see if they can come up with any suggestions, but apart from moving, I don't see any answers!. So sorry I couldn't help, but re-tunes won't achieve anything due to L'pool & Manc'r using the same frequency for both these local services. Richard, Norwich.

GEM: Hi, Gem. as I've said before on here, it is the landlord's duty and responsibility to ensure the communal aerial system is working, but the landlord may not do anything if residents don't inform him that there is no Freeview signal, so someone needs to report it! Richard in Norwich.

FAO:Briantist:The Suffolk Local DAB multiplex is now full up and running on Block 10 C from Mendlesham, Puttocks Hill (for Bury St Eds) and Warren Heath (for Ips.)transmitters. Perhaps you'd like to update the transmitter coverage maps, etc. when you get a 'free moment'? Richard in Norwich.

Aidan Lunn: Yes, you're right, Aidan. Having read your post I had a look for myself. When Brian first added this new 'My Radio Reception' facility, it showed all of my analogue radio possibilities and frequencies on both medium wave and VHF, nut sadly, these are now missing. Perhaps Brian can add the MW and VHF back in when he has a few free spare moments?! Richard in Norwich.

Neil: Hi, Neil. On Sunday 9th. Octber at 5:04 p.m, there are no reported problems on Bluebell Hill, which means that the transmitter is functioning properly in full working order with no engineering works going on. Richard in Norwich.

D: Channels currently available on COM 8 are likely to be available on on a different FULL POWER multiplex after the next digital switchover in 2020, so you don't need to worry about losing any channels when they switch COM 8 off just before the 202o switchover! Richard in Norwich.

ITV 3 +1
Tuesday 11 October 2016 8:17PM

ELIZABETH: Hi, Elizabeth. If there is a '+ symbol in the channel name it is usually followed by the number '1'. This means that the channel shows what WAS on the channel without the '+1' one hour ago. I hope that this makes sense to you. For example, if I missed 'Neighbours' when it showed on Channel Five at 5:30 p.m., I could go to Channel Five +1 at 6:30 p.m. and watch Neighbours on there, so it gives you the opportunity to catch up on a programme you missed the start of an hour ago. In this way, it can be useful if you miss the start of a drama episode or something because you can start watching it one hour after it started on the channel without the '+1'. Hopefully, with these examples, you will have understood 'my drift'. Richard in Norwich.
