MikeB: I have checked my transmitter details and my HD channels are coming from the North East transmitter which I presume is Bilsdale? All my other std Freeview channels are coming from Yorkshire transmitter Idle/Shipley which are on full strength.
Why aren't the HD channels coming from the Yorkshire transmitter, seems odd.
When I tune my TV I have a region choice but I always select the Yorkshire region.

Betamax_man : Hi Betamax_man. Were you aware that the Idle transmitter does not carry the COM 7 multiplex, which carries the additional HD channels? Bilsdale does, but at lower power than the main 6 multiplexes, so your tv equipment may not be able to pick up the COM 7 multiplex from Bilsdale because it is transmitted at lower power. Stuart Swaine: Put your postcode into the site, and you'll bring up lots of information about reception in your area, etc. Your postcode shows that Bilsdale is your best bet, and your aerial should be pointing NNE. But you shouldn't be getting HD channels from one transmitter and SD from another! So actually check by looking at your manual tuning setup on your TV - you dont need to tune anything but it will tell you what channel (frequency) your on. Bilsdale BBC1 is on Ch26. Its not impossible to pick up another transmitter with a lower channel number, or some other problem.

Once we know what your tuned to, then we can help sort out if its the right one, etc

I live in Doncaster and use Emley moor transmitter, for a few weeks now I have had problems with all programmes on Ch 48 distorting and breaking up, no other channels are affected. I have retuned my Panasonic digibox/recorder numerous times but the problem still persists. Any idea what is wrong?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Donnybelle : Check signal strength - is it too high or low? If its 90% or something, its too high. The Mux is full strength and your using a Panasonic, which is known for its sensitive tuners, so too high isn't a bad guess.

Linda Tattersfield : Emley Moor has already been upgraded to accommodate COM7 and COM8 transmitters, and although the programme referred to has not as yet been added to COM8's listings on this (Briantists) site, the Craft channels website states that its debut date was the 1st of this month.

You will of course have to carry out a retune on your TV or box in order to update the EPG listings. Its also assumed that you are already able to view 111 QVC+HD and 112 QVC Beauty HD?, both programmes broadcast on COM8 HD.

FAO: Ian from Pinxton, Alfreton, Derbys. According to Digital UK, you should be using the Waltham on the Wolds transmitter in Leicestershire, rather than the Emley Moor transmitter near Huddersfield. Have you tried to use Waltham, because from there you'll receive programmes especially for the East Midlands on BBC1 SD and ITV SD.Richard, norwich.

Richard Cooper, that area is in a deep dip and surrounded by trees, of the 3 transmitters, Emley Moor, Waltham, Sutton Coldfield, it is Waltham with the weakest output, it doesnt quite reach? But i have had trouble elsewhere with BBC mux from there also (to strong?) Emley Moor is the only option and has been generally ok for years
