I've not been able to record programmes recently on channels 4 and 5 plus many others . I've always been able to record anything in the past. The TV appears to be recording but when I go to view them from the library it comes up No Video. I don't record with videos, just the free view box. I've been using this system for years and never had a problem. I'm tuned into Sutton Coldfield.

Mrs Bowler:

It may be a problem within your Freeview box. One thing you can try is to make it perform a full reset. To do that, switch off the box with the remote control, then switch off the mains socket it is connected to and unplug it from the mains supply. Wait five minutes and then carefully put the mains plug back in, switch the socket back on and then wait another 5 minutes to let the box reset. Then switch the bopx on again with the remote control. Check whether you are getting all the channels, if not perform a ful retune.

Hopefully that will overcome the problem. If it doesn't then you may have a fault within the box needing specialist attention inside.

Bob D: I have tuned and retuned both my Sony Bravia Freeview HD Tv and a new YouView Box and cannot get PSB3 multiplex for BBC B HD. I am using a booster connected to my loft aerial which appears to be showing channels from all other multiplexes including some HD channels. So no 101-105 plus others available on my TV guide. I have SKY+ , BluRAy DVD and Apple TV connected also. Can anyone suggest a solution please?

Bob D: As your location relative to that of the station you receive your Freeview signal from is unknown, your problem "might" be caused by the strength of signal received from the PSB3 transmitter (the most powerful Mux) overloading your tuner, therefore try by passing the booster followed by carrying out another retune on your TV.

It would also be of assistance if your location was known, this preferably being in the form of a post code or one from somewhere nearby, e.g: a shop / post office, as this would enable checks to be made on the status of the transmitter, plus access to Digital UK's reception predictor.

Bob D: If your not getting that mux on either device, then its most likely your aerial system, possibly a dodgy cable. Could be the booster has a problem (do you actually need one?) - try bypassing it and see if it helps.

Bob D: In addition to that said in my original reply. I had also meant to mention, that before going to the trouble of bypassing your booster (particularly so if located in the loft) make sure that the HDMI cable connected into your TV does "not" run parallel (or even close) to the aerial lead, as the radiation from HDMI leads can cause frequency selective problems with reception.

BobD:

Are you using the Sutton Coldfield main transmitter? If you are not then a full post code is essential as jb38 states. Then we can see which transmitter you are most likely to be using and to see whether it transmits the services you want, not all of them do.

Please post a question, answer or commentIf you have Freeview reception problems before posting a question your must first do this Freeview reset procedure then see: Freeview reception has changed, Single frequency interference, and Freeview intermittent interference.

If you have no satellite signal, see Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fault'

If you have other problems, please provide a full (not partial) postcode (or preferably enter it in box at the top right) and indicate where if aerial is on the roof, in the loft or elsewhere.
